Forums - Sony - Monster Hunter Vita in a "few months"

although it's odd, he's not talking crap, why would he!?

It would be quite stupid not to release Monster Hunter on PsVita

the thing is, a 3DS version already exists and MH4 is coming to 3DS, so will people prefer Monster Hunter on PsVita graphics or on 3D, on a console that already has more than MH!?

in other words, MH will do what Ocarina of Time did, it's a big game yes, but it's not a 10m seller that is going to sell the systems on its own, if you understand what i mean

No claw control on vita.

Vita is almost designed specifically for MH.

@Roma
Idc how u can put "OT" then say what u said? How is that on topic? It seems like you're trolling tbh.

Sony doesn't need MH alone to succeed, although there's no denying that it would help. It needs Japanese-oriented games in general. It was foolish for Sony to focus on releasing Vita in Japan first, bc it has an incredible, even unprecedented - launch lineup for EUROPE/U.S. taste, NOT for Japanese taste. This is the main problem in Japan right now from my perspective, not simply MH. A future price cut will help as well, one of the major things 3DS needed as well to be successful.

There's no purpose in ur MH comment unless ure a Ninty fanboy with distaste for Sony. If it isn't the case, then u make it seem otherwise.

Nobody writes OT to mean on-topic. They write it to mean off-topic.

Why say "On topic" when on-topic is default? That's redundant. If you're talking about "a response to the original post", you would then write "@OP"

EDIT: oh wow, he actually did mean On-topic since he was off-topic. He doesn't know what he's talking about. Sony saying, we'd sell more with MH, is like MS saying, "we would have had better sales had halo launched with the system", or how Nintendo was readying 2D mario to combat lagging 3ds sales. MH sells millions upon millions, Grand Theft Auto -like sales. He thinks it's sad because he lacks outsider perspective.

it pathetic that they need 3rd party games to stay afloat

The Vita strategy will be judged as being pathetic if they do a huge pricecut within a Year of release, until then it's all good.

On another note, said this a while back - PS3 port.

Too bad Sony can’t afford a price cut as they did not plan ahead. If they had sold it at a profit and then reduced it to a small loss it would be different but now if they do they will add loss over the already existing losses

3rd party is the sole reason Sony is in the gaming market.

Wii U, U stands for please port ps360 games to our console.

OT:

Lame, Shouldn't have let it go to Ninty in the first place, enjoy your hell for being lame.

What in the world? Very odd post :S

Why odd? Didn't PSP sales in Japan explode with monster hunter? Isn't it the best selling game on the psp? at least in Japan... It's ridiculous to let it go completely and not even secure a simultaneous release :/

I am not even very keen on sales and numbers but I can't help but to point out the obvious stupidity. Sony will have lots of fun with Kaz for sure.

"Didn't PSP sales in Japan explode with monster hunter? "

Are you serious? Your answer is right there. PSP sales explode because of MH. So.... if MH comes out on anything, sales of said thing explode. So how is PSP advantageous to Capcom in any way, tell me?

The gold is MH, not PSP. Get with the program.

Oh lord not this again. What is your point? That MH should've launched on PSP, or were you being sarcastic?

If MH does well on anything, why is it lame if it launches on the best-selling portable ever rather than on the successor to the PSP, which it made its success off MH?

In other words, PSP depends on MH, not the other way around. So Capcom is not lame, they are rather quite damn smart!

The real point is that vita MH sales are going to smash 3ds monster hunter sales. ;-P

EDIT: added a wink for super seriousness

Keep dreaming. The next MH is a port... And MH 4 is coming to 3DS, so who do you think real MH fans will flock to. To refresh your memory, here are the sales for the MH's on PSP:

PosGamePlatformYearGenrePublisherNorth AmericaEuropeJapanRest of WorldGlobal
1 Monster Hunter Freedom Unite PSP 2008 Role-Playing Capcom 0.43 0.46 4.13 0.30 5.32
2 Monster Hunter Freedom 3 PSP 2010 Role-Playing Capcom 0.00 0.00 4.65 0.00 4.65
3 Monster Hunter Freedom 2 PSP 2007 Role-Playing Capcom 0.35 0.23 1.75 0.16 2.50
4 Monster Hunter Freedom PSP 2005 Role-Playing Capcom 0.23 0.00 1.03 0.03 1.29

As Freedom and Freedom 2 show, they didn't always do well on PSP. Since MH 4 is announced for 3DS, assuming it stays exclusive (at least timed exclusive), and with the current Vita base on a low trend, I'd say your prediction sucks.

I'll try to clarify and refrain from posting in sales section ever again lol.

"Lame, Shouldn't have let it go to Ninty in the first place"

I meant SONY was lame for not securing an exclusivity deal with capcom or at least a simultaneous release, Non of Sony first party games appeal to the Japanese, it's stupid to let go of the best selling psp game in Japan, and what did they offer instead, uncharted? oh please...

And yes I agree, it's only logical for Capcom to release it on the 3DS.
