Interesting article on the 'blockbuster' mentality going on. It certainly appears true. There's no more room for mediocore games. Why buy Homefront 2 or Saints Row 3 when you know all you're friends will be playing CoD9 or GTA5 (despite complaining about those very games last iteriation)??

I agree with it. I will go even farther and say, why buy anything else when you know these big games have not really dissapointed in the past. Lets say you skipped a generation with Nintendo and decided to get a Wii. What do you remember being great on the N64? Mario, Zelda, Super Smash Bros. So trusting that those games will still be good you go and buy them. CoD is the same. You had fun before, your friends were there before and even if it was not great before you still thought it was above average. You trust this big game. Another thing is the hope that big games mean big production values.

What "blockbuster" thread are you talking about?

Blockbuster's take up all the glory. They get the sales, ad time,and money. Smaller titles are getting less and less. I believe that is the gist of it.
