No "Sony will discontinue the PSV this month" option?

I'm thinking Sony should be happy if they get 30% market share.

The problem with the PSVita is that it is also competing with Sony's PSP.

You can buy a 3DS and still have a DS. But if you are invested in Sony's old handheld, you have to restart with Sony's new handheld. In other words, you start with NO games. And that could retard sales.

Because "PSV will outsell 3DS" only covers one end of the trolling spectrum.

I don't think this year or ever will PSV do better marketshare wise than PSP.

To me, Sony has made the same general platform and will result in the same general outcome. A financially successful product, but no change in marketshare.

You really didn't include many options for how it will sell less.
Of course the 3DS will though. Japan just seems to gravitate towards Nintendo. Possibly because of Pokemon and Mario. Now MH! :)

i think the psvita will have bad sales, until the system sees a price drop. like the 3ds got, the games will surely come and the system will catch on in japan that i think is fairly certain. the regions where the psvita will struggle to compete with the 3ds is in the states and europe, unless sony goes balls out and actualy shows commerials and really puts its money fully behind it, then it might stand a better chance in the long term.
