Forums - General - Why can't some Christians accept Evolution?

Because religion is not science, is religion. We discuss about words written on stones, no way you can drive people to a critic of their beliefs if they close their mind.

the question here should be how may americans actual know what the theory of evolution is?

I think that everyone pretty much has the basics, and unless you go to a private school or are home schooled all Public schools teach it.

They just may not know everything. Again, the ones who do not believe in it at all, are the one's I am talking about in this sentence.

I heard quite a few stories of teachers trying to avoid the topic, add their own personal opinion on it or teach it as something it's not, so I don't think it's about whether they teach it or not, they have to, it's just making sure teachers teach it correctly.

Well whether people believe me or not, a lot of Christians do not believe it at all. In America, back when I was in Washington State on the pacific coast, in the public schools if it was obvious that a teacher was a Christian or "This"type of Christian, they would just have you read over it in the book, but there would be no questions on it and no discussion.

College Professors are much more adamant on teaching Evolution and pretty much everything that they believe in. Which everyone knows you have to be careful, because College Professors can go over board with all sorts of topics. Students will believe them.

I was listening to this radio show once, and the Host was so mad at this college kid who was talking a bunch of garbage that he got the girl to tell him where she heard all the stuff she was talking about. She said such and such Professor as some university. He called and got the Professor fired, after he replayed the tape to the board or whoever he played it to. I got off topic sort of though.

By the way I grew up in a town that is one of the craziest on the planet! Witch Craft, Masononic temples, Fields of drugs, Big Foot, Wherewolves, and the big one

Ramtha's School of Enlightenment

A huge cult spread over the whole world, is headquartered right there in my town. They have pushed church leaders out, she has had multiple Actors and actresses come and train with her. I even served Salma Hayek when I worked at a Fine Dining restaurant there. Clint Eastwood, Patrick Swayze, Linda Carter, etc. There are Underground bunkers spread all over town for all to see, along with a giant Pyramid house.

Also there are endless Ghost Hunter societies. Basically, I said that so you know that I am not just some shut in Christian who only sees black.

Yeah it sucks because most kids will just accept pretty everything a teacher says without question, just cause their an authoritative figure or whatever, I've seen plenty of my classmates do it and I do it too to be honest :/

Holy crap! Glad you got out of that, it's crazy that that kinda shit still exists in a country like America.

What do you mean by "shut in Christian who only sees black"?

i read this entire thread. you cant just throw around a word like 'evolution' without even defining it once. people are arguing and they dont even know what they are arguing about. its actually pretty funny.

The title should be changed to "Why can't some Americans accept evolution." Because the only people I have ever even seen try to argue against evolution are American. I have never personally met anyone who has indicated that they don't believe in evolution (let alone met any Christian); only on the Internet, and only American. I think this is something that is fairly peculiar to Americans (in the same way that some Americans don't believe in the greenhouse effect); at least in first world countries.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

When you say greenhouse affect do you mean global warming? I think humans have helped it along to a degree, but I also think that it was just going to happen naturally as well to a certain degree. As for your evolution American comment. After reading multiple replies in this thread I would agree with you. Either way though it is still "some" Christians. @lewisgerm Did it take you 8 days to read this?

Regardless of whether it's true or not, it'd still be best as if you acted like it was true.  Would do the world good to have people willing to do their part to make the world a better place.

Whether Global Warming/Climate Change is real or not, you should still care about the environment.

just becuase you don't understand the biological processes that go into millions...no, BILLIONS of years of evolution doesn't mean they don't make sense. Ignorance at its purest.
