Cheapest 360 in Holiday 2008 was $299 (Price cut from $349 20GB). Nowadays you can get one for $200. That isn't 2008 price.

I ended up looking so foolish.


You have to consider that a 360 in 2011 had a lot more packed in than a 360 in 2008. Nearly every 360 bundle comes with Kinect. you can get 360 with kinect at 199.99 i am sure of it. I dont really know though because i come from England. 

I remember some advertisements for america though with 360's kinect and giftcard for like 200. So you have to consider what you get with the 360 and not just what you pay for it.

I was going based on just the entry price for basic models, which does in fact continue to be $199.99 and $299.99 without taking holiday promotions or anything else into account.

Sales2099 was correct in his statement.

No worries Euphoria,
in 2008 you could get an arcade with no hard drive and no wireless adaptor for 199.

In 2010 you could get it for 149$, and walmart was giving was 150$ giftcards along with purchase of a 360.

In 2011, you can get a slimline 360 with wireless adaptor and 4gb harddrive for 199. It may not be a price drop, but the 199$ you pay for now, is worth 399 in 2008.

The only exception being that they will not actually cut the price. They will simply include more and more into it.

360 elite for 199.
360 elite with kinect 199
360 elite with kinect and 4 games 199
360 super elite with super kinect and 10 super duper games 199

It will never get a price cut.

My guess is that next holiday is going to be elite 320gb with 2 wireless controllers and 1 year subscription, 199 and arcade with kinect and 2 games for 199$.

And the 299$ is going to be both of those things above combined. 320gb, 1 year subscription, kinect, 2 games.

....   because I am a Nintendo handheld supporter so its nice to see their strategy paying off versus that of the competition  

...because I am anti Sony and what ever platform is winning aganist them I root for.  There I fixed it for ya.



Well ok but ive actually owned every Nintendo handheld since Gameboy. I really do have a loyalty to Nintendo (purely in the handheld sector)

I let go from nintendo when i was 10. I use big boys consoles now. Theres only so much mario a guy can take

You know, you guys really are getting on me today, lol. I was sure I edited my post before anyone would respond to them. I was 100% positive after posting that people would take my post wrong and I was right, which is why I changed it to $199 and $299 for "basic models", meaning any SKUs not including additional add-ons and accessories like Kinect or Move.

If a customer like myself were to buy a 360 today I wouldn't want Kinect, so I would be shopping for either a 4GB Arcade or a 250GB SKU.

 

I'm off to a bad start on the Chartz today.

Impressive PS3 performance, I expected it to at most tie with XB360 this week after the latter constantly overkilled competitors since CoD:MW3 launch, two weeks before BF, I just expected PS3 to win again in the first weeks of 2012. PSV is in a bad shape, but it's too early to really tell, and Sony would better wait and see how much 3DS drops, before deciding any move. In the meantime, look at teh undead PSP overkilling DS, there must be some error in the charts!
Kinect is holding more than I expected, even in Europe.
