Wii drops by 2/3rds. That's very telling of its current audience. Meanwhile, PS3 stays about the same as last week.

You really don't like the wii! :P

I just don't like it when a console that gets almost no new games outsells a console that gets all the new games. And Nintendo is shunning the Wii, so I like it when Wii gets what Nintendo deserves.

Look at the software list for Japan for this week, a lot of those titles were launched this christmas, yes you still have titles like Wii Party, but still the list focuses on relatively newer titles as well.

Also to be fair, Nintendo can't do much for the wii anymore outside of NOA localization (stupid NOA). Since they now have to deal with Wii U and 3DS, Nintendo should really invest in more first party studios, so software droughts are rarer.

Does Media Create show total hardware sales in Japan

Yes, they did.

starcraft: "I and every PS3 fanboy alive are waiting for Versus more than FFXIII.
Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

Skeeuk: "playstation 3 is the ultimate in gaming acceleration"

Did not expect this huge drop for the Wii, thought it would decline a bit slower after the holidays. Even weirder considering the decent software sales, or at least the quantity of software showing in the charts.

the Ds didn´t have a MH beacause Third parties games DON´T SELL on Nintendo Consoles... If you look to the TOP 20 BEST SELLING GAMES of nintendo DS You will see that only two games are from thir parties... and are Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest... and Dragon Quest because Nintendo distribute it on the rest of the World... Monster Hunter 3G is sellong well for a thir Party game but it isn´t selling as well as other first parties games and not even like teh first Monster Hunter on PSP...

That's not true. 3rd party games sold well on NDS. Don't limit yourself on the top 20. Look at the bigger picture. NDS is a software beast that's why a lot of Japanese devs release a lot of games in it especially Squareenix.

Again... NOT... They did games for NDS just because the budget to do a game on that console is minor than on PSP... so no matter how low some games sell You don't lose anything.. the same apply to Wii, the Wii Third parties games sold worst than on DS... fromthe TOP 10 3 games are "mario etc" and 3 games... Peaplo really LOVE Mario games and other Nintendos Franchises... but they don´t look anything more... there's no Major third partie games on the list of DS most selled games..

Althougth Nintedo is trying to change that with the 3DS and I like it... but that's the main reason why PSP had Monster Hunter and Ds not... not the graphics and technical specs of the console (DS got Okami recently and the dirst one was on PS2...)

Maybe shunning the Wii in Japan, but elsewhere we should have about the same type of year as 2011, minus a new Kirby or Zelda.

Remember early last year was a ghost town on the Wii. But this year will be a little more exciting!

But Kirby and Zelda were like the only big First party titles for Wii last year, so without those it has basically 0 major new titles next year. That's even worse than this year! Also when Wii U launches Wii will be dropped by Nintendo faster than grabbing a hot plate straight out of the oven with your bare hands.

Dragon Quest X, it will most likely outsell both of them combined. Given a Wii U version exists....

Look at the numbers, 3DS is killing Vita.

That is a FACT.

Like it or not, excuse this or excuse that, it does not change the FACT that the 3DS will have a MASSIVE lead when the Vita goes global.

Arguing about the reasons WHY will not change the FACT that the 3DS is selling leaps and bounds above Vita.

Does this mean that the Vita is "doomed" for all of eternity? Of course not. But to act like the Vita is "just 1 title" away from the closing the gap set by 3DS is retarded.

Don't be retarded.

3DS still big even after the huge drop

Nice PS3 hold, but still down YoY

PSP still outselling the Vita, but it will slowly change

HAHA at the Wii drop (no hate, just funny)
