This isn't really a "apifanny" or a "sign" or what ever but something kinda similar happened to me

I brought LoZ Hour Glass AND Sprit Tracks for DS and i went home and put Hour Glass in, played it for a few hours then i decided to put in Sprit Tracks... so i put it in to find out that it was actually another Hour Glass! (so i had 2 copys of Hour Glass, 1 was in the hour glass case and the other same game was in Sprit tracks case) because 1 copy of the game was an Australian version and the other was a UK version so they both had different pictures on the cartridge and i didn't notice...

So the next day i went in back to the store explained the situation and it got resolved

aaaaaaaand life moves on... wasn't really a big deal, pretty pointless story

When I bought my GameBoy Advance back in the day, I bought Castlevania: Circle of the Moon with it. I was so excited that I tore open the plastic wrap and opened the box... only to find a couple packs of Taco Bell sauce.

Of course we went and returned it (sorry about that ) but It makes for a funny story now.

If I were you, I'd try your luck one more time and go for Pokemon White again. I'd say it's worth it.

Easy fix. Go to the shop again and buy a game you'd like, but also want to get for your friend. Go to your car and take out the game. Rush back to the store in a frenzy and claim your game wasn't in there. Make a huge scene until the relent and give you another copy.

Then you have a great gift for a friend and a new game.

Wouldn't count as stealing in my book.
