Ok, then 2.9 million are still sitting on retail shelves then. That was some serious overshipping. Retailers won't need to reorder for awhile.

Just making an observation. I'm sure Microsoft are going to be very pleased with their numbers, for example, this quarter has been a huge success for them. I was merely pointing out how Nintendo's huge hardware numbers effectively contexualise MS's numbers within the dedicated gaming hardware industry as a whole. Nintendo will be justifiably pleased that they have turned their failings earlier this year around to now pump out more dedicated gaming hardware than the combined efforts of their direct competitors. Their gains with the 3ds don't necessarily mean anyone else's loss.

Well it's either lose lot of money and sell a lot or make profit but not sell a lot. 

Cool, I think Skyrim has a chance to beat that. It's already at 5.8 million sold not including PC digital sales. It should get to 10 million by the end of next year.

Don't forget to include PC and PSN sales for FF7!

Those 3DS numbers are very impressive. I remember somebody on here a couple of weeks back saying it would finish the year at 12.5m and thinking not a chance, but now that seems like maybe a minimum as I would expect another 1m week next week. Should be a nice tussle between the Vita and 3DS next week as well!

Nice 3DS is doing well for a do0m3d console as well as the the dead Wii!
