Sony has proven themselves as terrific game developers and also have shown time and time again to take risks that no other company is willing to take.

The Last of Us being yet another example of Sony not just letting the devs rest on past success. They could have come out and said that Naughty Dog is developing Uncharted 4 for holiday 2012. Sony could have also bought out Insomniac years ago and made them focus on churning out Ratchet and Clank games every single year.

Anywho, Summary:

Sony is a proven content provider. Fantastic games. Takes risks.

Hopefully one of those new IPs is an RPG and yea, Sony's got an army of first party devs. Sony's consoles (PS4,5 ect ect) will always be my first priority just because of their first party devs.

No Boycott just happens to be I don't enjoy the games Sony makes (each game I have played atleast 3 hours of), Unchared 1-3 found them to be an infeior  Tomb Raider game (Mostly the orignal TR), I hate realistic racing games so GT is out,  I don't really enjoy God of War played 1 and 2 then again not a big hack and slash fan, Killzone is what CoD is to me enjoyable but never enough for me to buy it myself, Singstar and Buzz are both in genres I don't care about, not sure why I can't get into Rachet and Clank games and resistance I give credit to I enjoyed a good amount problem is I've played through all three via friends so no need to buy. That sums up the general Sony games and why I don't buy them.... ^_^

Was adding to your question of why boycott.

I know alot of devs have gone on the record stating that they will be providing gamers with a game that is unlike anything else on the market and fall flat on their faces, but I fully trust that ND is going to actually deliver something we have never seen before with The Last of Us. That is the one thing that has me most excited about this game as long as its true. Cant wait for more details.

There is also White Knight Chronicles, MAG, ModNation Racers, LittleBigPlanet, Heavenly Sword and WarHawk.

And one more thing, take a look at some of those screenshot comparisons between uc3 and Last of us, it is mind numbing how incredible the ladder looks.

the thing is about Sony games is that there is so many but not many of them are known, so you have to "look" for them

i personally like Sony because they always do new IPs , never tend to stick to one formula so whenever some new announcements come out, it tends to be "hey what are they going to do this time?" , they tend to take a risk of creating new IPs, totally ignoring the fact that this new IP might not sell much, yeah sometimes that risk can make a cool game, but sometimes its not really good, and most of the time these games don't sell, so thats why most games go under the radar, for example try Starhawk , its great multiplayer , White Knight Chronicles is a good RPG as well, Wipeout is an awesome racer
