Oh I missed your first paragraph, I only saw one about a bunch of Move games which got released within a year.

I did say games with bi-annual releases get announced much sooner to release (Uncharted's and Resistance games), but you did name 4 non-bi-weekly releases released within 2 years. So I'll give you some counter examples.

White Knight Chronicles was announced in fall 2007, and released in early 2010. Nearly 2.5 years.

FYI white chronicles was released in Japan on Dec. 2008. With your gaming knowledge. You should know the entire process of localization.

MAG was announced E3 2008, and released January 2010, bit over 1.5 years

Not 2 years like you keep mentioning. Pretty normal.

3D Dot Game Heros was announced August 2009, and released May 2010, that's nearly 2 years.

Again was released on Japan first. The game was released in Japan on November 5, 2009. Localization process. FYI It's from "From Software" not Sony.

White Knight Chronicles 2 was announced at TGS 2009, and wasn't released until September 2011, thats close to 2 years.

Again was released in Japan first. July 2010.

The Last Guardian was announced in 2007,so it's over 3.5 years now.

I said after 2008. That's past and history already.

Twisted Metal was announced E3 2010, but won't release until February 2012, that's 1 and 3/4 years.

Not 2 years. Pretty normal.

Note, several of these games were announced before 2008, but these are the games Sony is releasing in recent years. If many of them were announced a while back, it's likely many of the current projects could be delayed. You argue that since 2008 Sony has released most of their announced exclusives on short timeframes, but that's just because the ones still in development since aren't released yet. This is a key point of logic (how can a game with a 3-4 year release to announce gap have been announced 2 years ago, and released?)

We son't see as many games with over 2 years development time, I agree, but who is to say Last Guardian won't be delayed another year? Heavy Rain was a recent title and that had a 3.5 year development time, GT5 was 5 years, and both of those games are recently released PS3 games. Yes I do keep bringing these games up because it's common for Sony to announce several of their games years before release, and this prroves my statement. Most games are about 2 years though, with a handful closer to 1 year.

But it is in the past it was announced by what 2006? 2007? What year do we live in now? Of course their would be delays. I am not even arguin about that. One example is Gears 3. It was supposed to released last year IIRC. A lot of publisher do it it's not exclusive to Sony.

Also to be fair, we could add GT6 to the list of upcoming games. Polyphony Digital has confirmed they are working on it, but haven't mentioned which platform. I doubt that game will release before fall 2013 though, so another 2 year wait at least.

Isn't  it common knowledge they are already working on GT 6 already. It's like asking activision if they are working on their next COD or any other developer if they are working on their projects or games .

I am sorry you are really stretching and cherry picking here. >_>

Paragraph 2 - except for biannual releases like Uncharted, most of PS3's exclusives are announced 2 years before release.

Atleast show me a list to prove your point and not your knowledge about the matter.

Why does making a list of 2012 titls derail the thread? OP talks about upcoming games, I point out, there aren't many, and I doubt most of which will release any time soon (2012). If Sony announced 40 games tomorrow, to be released over the next 10 years, would you be shocked at the number of games, or realize that the content per year isn't much. I am the later.

Just read shinobi's post and Jay's.  I am tired of repeating myself.

Why did I want to make the line-up look more dry? To show the generation is coming to an end. All consoles are getting dryer line ups. Instead of being excited about the leftover PS3 games, we should be looking into PS4's.

What does that have to do with the thread?

You know what Michaal-5. I am pretty sure you have used Wiki on the release date but why did you left out the release date of Japan from a Japanese game and only use the release date of USA. It's a common knowledge that a game that came from Japan will always be release on Japan first especially if it's catered for Japanese audience. It's also common knowledge that we have to wait because of localization. That's why FF, Tales with an excepmtion of Vesperia, KH and Mostly JRPG release on Japan first.

To be fair, I did not want to talk about 360, and only the thread author keeps returning my comments with comparisions between 360 and PS3. I replied, which is sad, I agree, and so is everyone who keeps fucken posting about PS3 vs. 360 comparisions. Always happens on PS3 threads (ned to compensate?)

Credibility = Lost.

Good Lord this thread! Really guys?

To me, it looks like 2012-2013 will probably be a shared period of about 5-10 core exclusives for PS3 and then an announcement of the PS4 sometime in 2013. Just give me The Last Of Us before March 2013 and I will be happy Sony!

I did say PS3 will go out with a bang. The Last of Us and Last Guardian are a great pair of games to finish the console on.

and this is my point exactly, PS4 is comming, PS3's library is starting to dry up. It's begining to become time to move on.

Why not ask Michael-5?

I don't know why he brought up how dry PS3 line-ups 2012 and how a lot PS3 got delayed badly in here. This was supposed to be fun light hearted thread and have fun discussing the PS3 exclusive but ofcourse there will be a one guy crashing the party and try to ruined it for everybody.

Yes, but of those games how many will release in 2012? I think it's more likely that more games will get delayed from a tentive 2012 launch into 2013, then those who will get announced in the next 6 months and release in fall 2012.

2008-2011 Sony announced more games then they have at the start of 2012, that's my point! 7 games from 1 publisher is a lot, but for Sony, it's a lot less then normal.

and lets not bring in MS or Nintendo, otherwise I'll have 10 more comments saying "360's library is shit, blind support to PS3!!!" and that's just annoying. Also it defeats my point. All first party developers have a dry 2012 lineup, with only a couple of real AAA titles.

Twisted Metal is guaranteed release in 2012 because it was going to be released this year itself, but they delayed it just like LBP2.

Starhawk is already in beta stage, I don't see it getting delayed at all.

Last Guardian is mysterious so lets not consider it.

The Last of Us, this can get delayed, but it maybe released as well since its naughty dog and naughty dog has always used VGA + 1 year to release a game.

Sly 4, this will easily release next year, doesn't look like such an ambitious project to get delayed.

What did we get from Sony in 2010?

We can't ignore Last Guardian... It's a game, announced for 2012, and could very likely be delayed into 2013.

2010, big games Killzone 3, White Knight Chronicles 2, Uncharted 3, LittleBigPlanet 2, SOCOM 4, Motorstorm, inFamous 2, and Resistance 3, but this is just the main stuff.

That is 2011.

I asked 2010, sony didn't release as many in that year.

Last guardian was announced for 2010 but its now 2012 so that's why I just assumed it as delayed.

It's also common knowledge that we have to wait because of localization. That's why FF, Tales with an excepmtion of Vesperia, KH and Mostly JRPG release on Japan first.

Not all games take forever to localize, Final Fantasy XIII-2 releases like 2 months after it's Japan release. Japanese titles are no exception to Sony's first party library.

Also 1.5 years for some titles balances out with 2.5 for others. 2 years is a common normal.

For GT6, Polyphony Digital officiall announced they are working on a GT6. The game has been announced. Were not talking about knowing a game is in development (We all knew there was going to be an Uncharted 3 after Uncharted 2).

I'm cherry picking? Most games fall within a 1.5-2.5 year announce to release span, and I said same are noticably longer (like Last Guardian, which still isn't out). Who is to say their games announced 2008 and after won't be delayed? Maybe Starhawk will be a 2014 title? How can you know that it won't given Sony's past history? I mean since the launch of PS3 there has always been a game in development which didn't release until over 3 years after launch, and I'm sure after Last Guardian releases, there will be something else (likely a PS4 game though).

Confiming my arguement to 2012 games doesn't derail the thread. The thread is about Past present and future PS3 games, we all know past and present are excellent, so I only commented about the future. You don't have to quote just me, if I only talk about half the OP.

As for the PS3 dying, it has a lot to do with the thread. Were talking about Sony's great games, past, present, and future. The future is PS4, PS3 doesn't have much left in it.

I mean I didn't expect 10+ responses to my comment, I was just pointing out this observation of mine. People are too sensitive. If talking about PS3's future being dry is too much for you, then talk about the present, geez.

I thought my s would have brought some spice back to the thread. I guess failure is an option!

Don't worry I am just honing my debating skills and  I am practicing to be fluent in english as well. I need to be very  fluent in english because the work that I wish to apply for demands to be fluent in english.

@ Michael

Do YOU realize that games can be announced next year as well? This year primarily because of vita Sony has had to announce a lot of games at various events. And we still have 4 huge games for the next year. How many first party games did MS and nintendo release this year? If 4 games from one publisher is dry then we were pretty much in draught throughout the gen.

Yes, but of those games how many will release in 2012? I think it's more likely that more games will get delayed from a tentive 2012 launch into 2013, then those who will get announced in the next 6 months and release in fall 2012.

"I think it's more likely"

"i think" "i think" "i think" for the most part thats what you've been doing so far just basing your claims off of how you think things should be as opposed to reality... you demonstrate this when i mention newly announced games like ruin and motorstorm rc and still don't see how flawed your argument is

"otherwise I'll have 10 more comments saying "360's library is shit, blind support to PS3!!!""

no one here has said the 360 library was bad let alone "shit" and why should it bother you that people are supporting the ps3?

finally i'd like to see you answer for what mantlepiecek said "I asked 2010, sony didn't release as many in that year." because i agree i'm almost certain that next year the ps3 will get more ( non-move ) 1st party exclusives than it did in 2010

Michael-5 said:

But that's not the point is it? The game was still release on 2008 right?  If It weren't then you have an argument.

Also 1.5 years for some titles balances out with 2.5 for others. 2 years is a common normal.

I have shown you a lot of titles with mos. only.

For GT6, Polyphony Digital officiall announced they are working on a GT6. The game has been announced. Were not talking about knowing a game is in development (We all knew there was going to be an Uncharted 3 after Uncharted 2).

Again I am not even arguing about the delays. It's pretty common in the industry. I am qouting you because you said that Sony announced a lot of their games far too early and  its' common for them to release it after 2-3 years. I already gave you a lot of examples that Sony release their games on 1 year time frame or so when they were announced while you, can only give me few and that's the 4 games you still keep hanging on.

As 2008 part what are the games that was announced on 2008 that hasn't been release yet can you please name some.

The cherry picking is on the GT 6 and to your Japanese game list only. GT 6 was not formally announced, PD just confirmed they are working on it. IIRC it came from an interview. Notice why we still haven't seen a trailer for it because it wasn't formally or offically announced.

Confiming my arguement to 2012 games doesn't derail the thread. The thread is about Past present and future PS3 games, we all know past and present are excellent, so I only commented about the future. You don't have to quote just me, if I only talk about half the OP.

Can you please read the OP again? The sole purpose of this thread is to discuss how awesome PS3 exlusives are and how Sony are delivering and Sony keeps on making games on the PS3. He doesn't care if it was delayed or How dry the PS3 line-up on 2012.

As for the PS3 dying, it has a lot to do with the thread. Were talking about Sony's great games, past, present, and future. The future is PS4, PS3 doesn't have much left in it.

Is  PS4, PS3?

Again way to miss the point of the OP. This is a light hearted thread to discuss future PS3 games. Like you know Last of Us, Starhawk, Sly 4, MLB 2012, Last guardian, Twisted metal and the potential games from some the Sony devs. Maybe if you have said "I think some of those projects will be on the PS4" and didn't add something like  PS3's  2012 line-up is dry, Sony is known for delays and Sony announced game far too early. We won't be in this mess. We aren't even talking about that but ofcourse you feel the need to add those and try to ruined a very light hearted thread.

I mean I didn't expect 10+ responses to my comment, I was just pointing out this observation of mine. People are too sensitive. If talking about PS3's future being dry is too much for you, then talk about the present, geez.

Sensitive? I don't even care about your opinion. It's just that this isn't the thread for your so called observation. The OP did't even ask for that. If this thread was about "what do you think about the PS3 future" then feel free to post on your thoughts but this thread is about PS3 exclusives from the past, present and the future.
