Forums - Sales - Microsoft: 960k 360's sold during Black Friday Week in U.S

In your Black Friday preview you guys estimated 360 sales at about 600k.
I'm assuming your PS3 estimate is also wrong. I mean its gotta be. Only 320k? I highly doubt sales would be that low.....

Exactly. Based on this year's sales in the U.S.A. and the deals that Sony is providing for Americans this year seem to good for only 320k. I expect 500-600k FW in the U.S.A.

PS3 Sees 'Strong Demand' During Black Friday Weekend, says Sony

S3, according to Sony, has done well for itself during the official start to the all-important holiday shopping season: Black Friday. IndustryGamers heard from a Sony representative who said that sales for the console and games were indeed strong. Numerous retailers, including big box stores like Walmart, had fantastic deals to drive interest.

"Consumer demand for the PlayStation 3 system, peripherals and software was very strong during the Black Friday weekend. Gamers were quick to recognize the incredible value of the PS3 with its free access to PlayStation Network, Blu-ray capabilities, and the industry's best lineup of new titles, including the critically acclaimed Uncharted 3," an SCEA spokesperson commented to IndustryGamers.

An exact sales figure was not provided. We've also asked Microsoft and Nintendo for their statements on the Black Friday weekend. We'll be sure to let you know what we hear.

So my prediction of 1.1 million 360 for the week wasn't so bogus after all :) I was almost spot on!

Congrats to Microsoft, hell congrats to all three, video gaming in America is very healthy.

Absolutely incredible sales!

Hah, and people expect a new XBox next year? I wouldn't hold my breath. It isn't needed yet.

I hope this generation keeps going.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

In other news, 20 Xbox 360's sold in Japan this week.

jokes =p

Good thing Japan isn't important. Otherwise PS3 would have already closed the gap.

WTF is all I can say. Makes me wonder why they don't have Black Friday esque sales over here in Europe. But no, they always have to have sales after the holidays to get rid of stock. Stupid

In the Uk they did. And Monday is known as "Cyber Monday" here too which is the biggest shopping day online in the year. Expect big numbers for the UK as there were some awesome deals out there. Plus add to that Best Buy is shutting down and has a 30% off thing going on here.

These are some pretty amazing numbers here and i would just like to say "i told you so". PS3 does well throughout the year but get's destroyed by the 360 from black friday onwards and this year looks to be a repeat of last year. November sales should be 2-1 for 360, possibly even 3-1. The interesting thing about it is for PS3 to get those numbers it has had 2/3 official price cuts while 360 hasen't. Imagine what those sales will be like when they eventually do cut? Personally i think that cut will come in the new year as the new 360 will most likely be announced in 2012. Personally i see 2011 as the last big holiday for the 360 as i think the new one will be out in holidays 2012. It will be almost 8 years old then. Which is pretty old for a console generation.

lame pr statement... If only nintendo or microsoft announced what percent of the marketshare they had for black friday. Then we could calculate ps3 sales regardless of whether sony wants them to be known or not...

obvious troll is obvious. some ppl just cant seem to read the one word under what i said. i could care less what the sales are. its not like im getting money everytime sony sells more ps3 than microsoft sells xbox's. CALM YOUR TITS
