960k... Congratulations Microsoft,
7 years and still demonstrating how good the decision to come into the console market was :)

Didn't half the people on this site say XBox 360 was dead after the PS3 Slim launched? lol!! One of the main differences between the Xbox 360/Wii and the PS3 is I believe these two systems have more casual gamers, while the PS3 have just a few more hardcore gamers. Most casual gamers buy the bulk of their systems and software during the holiday season. Hardcore gamers will buy hardware/software at any time during the year. They don't care. I don't think the PS3 has ever won a holiday (Oct, Nov, Dec months) against the 360.

2009

Yup, Slim PS3 really did amazing in 09, Nov + Dec X360 only won by like 60k

Your talking about U.S.A. and he's talking global. And for October, November and Decemeber (2009) here are the sales:

October:

PS3: 321k

Xbox 360: 250k

Novemeber:

Xbox 360: 819,500k

PS3: 710,400

December:

  1. PS3: 1.36 million

  2. Xbox 360: 1.31 million

  3. Total holidays:
  4. PS3: 2.39 million
  5. Xbox 360: 2.37 million
So PS3 was marginally ahead of the 360 I would call it a tie

What do you guys think the ratio was for 4GB:250GB versions? Why do so many people buy the 4gb version when they probably will have to upgrade the HD or buy usb drives?

Does MS ever cut the price of the 250gb version for the holidays?

Been stated before. Because they can get in at a lower price and wait to purchase the HD when they need it.  Lower cost of entry.  And you can purchase the 250GB for $99.99 now.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

The Americans definitely have chosen their console of choice for this gen. Lets hope Microsoft supplies the games.
