A Great game, probably few played. I love Wipeout with a passion until F-Zero GX came out. That game defines high velocity racing, how do that graphics in that game beat almost every single Wii game? I have yet to see any Wii game have objects move that fast, well an HD game too.

35. God of War III (PS3)

I enjoyed all the God of War games but this one was truly astounding. Some absolutely breathtaking moments with moving levels, over the top fights and the visceral combat that makes God of War so much fun.

34. Tomb Raider (PS1 & PC, also available on SAT, PSN) (remade as Anniverssary on PC, PS2, 360, Wii, PSP)

The original Tomb Raider spawned a new gaming icon, two Hollywood films, started numerous models careers and was a damn good game to boot. Nice puzzles, a wonderous adventure and at times frustrating difficulty (especially when judging jumps). The remake modernised the controls for modern audiences and retains much of what made the original a classic.

33. The Witcher (PC)

At a time when everyone was "dumbing-down" RPGs to appeal to the masses, along came relatively unknown CDProjekt with The Witcher that showed there was still a market for core/traditional RPGs. I've yet to play the sequel, but the original is one of the best examples of modern Western RPGs around (ignoring the weird sex card collections).

32. Final Fantasy VI (SNES, PS, also on GB Advance, PSN)

If you can't remember the SNES generation, you need to get and play this game. This truly is a showcase of the near perfection attained at the end of the 2D era. As far as JRPGs go, it's still one of the best around with a fantastic story and a diverse array of characters.

31. Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3)

If you're a fan of Metal Gear Solid games, you'll love this. It beautifully rounds off the loose ends of the Metal Gear saga for Solid Snake. It does have a few too many cut scenes but has a deeply involved and emotional plot and classic yet modernised Metal Gear Solid gameplay (the first 2 chapters especially).

30. Counter-Strike/CS: Source (PC, other versions on X-box, XBL &PSN)

This is why PC gaming is great. A bunch of fans create a Half-Life mod that goes on to become one of the greatest multiplayer FPS ever. Through numerous iterations the game has kept improving and improving.

29. Call of Duty (PC, also on XBL, PSN)

The birth of one of the great gaming franchises in the world today. Call of Duty took the throne of WW2 shooter from Medal of Honor and never looked back. Great multiplayer gameplay and a superb single player campaign that saw you play as an American, British and Russian soldier, each giving a new perspective on the war. It's a far cry from the over-the-top action the series is now known for.

28. Grim Fandango

Grim Fandango was an attempt by Lucas Arts to drag classic adventure games in to the 3D era, but it was a sales failure and was partly responsible for the decline of the genre. That aside, it's a brilliant game that fans of previous adventure games like Monkey Island should love. You play as Manny Calavera, who is a travel agent for the Department of Death, which determines how people progress to the Ninth Underworld (either a 4 year journey on foot for sinners, or a 4 minute journey on a train for worthy souls). Manny discovers a plot to steal peoples train tickets, thus forcing them to set out on foot, and the game follows his attempts to set things right. It really is a great game, and it's just a shame more people didn't play it.

28. Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii)

My favourite Wii game and in my opinion the best platformer ever made.

never had you down as a football fan. And Yes, I missed the stats driven days of ISS, these modern day Pros are really lacking on that front if I'm honest.

The original Super Smash Bros is my 28. In some ways i preferred it to Melee (in that the original was slower and floatier like Brawl), but it misses out on a lot of stuff that made the other games so much more rich.

30 - Minecraft (PC)

There's not a lot to say about Minecraft that hasn't already been done. In fact I Did a review for it already in which I explain in detail why it's a great game but not for everyone. me? I love to create shit, and it's still basically digital lego.

29 - Ratchet and Clank; Going Commando (PS2)

while the first game was really good and set the foundation for the series, Going Commando is what really cemented many of the series' flagship features. This game featured upgradeable weapons, more RPG elements, a new game plus mode, and various features to really refine the formula. While the plot was...silly and kind of pointless, the gameplay more than made up for that by being fast, fun, frenetic, and...various other adjectives that start with F. It's also worth noting that Insomniac gained a reputation for their silly title puns that work as double entendres which continued with basically every iteration from here on out (especially Size Matters on the PSP)

28 - Super smash Brothers Melee (GCN)

while we're on the topic of sequels that took the original and made it better, I present to you Smash Brothers Melee! While the original N64 iteration was...good for its time but hasn't aged well, Melee tightened the controls, massively increased the roster, and gave us waves of options and tricks to play with. This game has been a staple at game tournaments for years and will likely continue to do so even now that Brawl has come out. I don't like talking about it, but I've won a few local Smash Brothers tournaments in my time, but I wouldn't win anymore. People who shut off all the items and only play on Final Destination bore me. IT's all about getting the most out of your game, and you can only do that by keeping items on, randomizing the level, and randomizing your character! I've spent well over 1200 hours on this game, total...
