30. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII (PSP)

I enjoyed this a lot more than the original FFVII, to be honest. And the ending almost made me cry.

Never knew that there was a third one on the GBC. However, I'm definitely a fan of the HM series (although there isn't a single one on my list), but the ones I enjoyed the most were the original on the SNES and Back to Nature on PS1. I'm curious what the other HMs on your list will be ;).

Bomberman 64 is my number 30.

It may very well be that because it was the first Bomberman i played, i never quite adapted to the traditional Bomberman formula, so this game has literally ruined other games for me :P

The theme in Phenarda drifts struck me so well, I downloaded it and played it while driving long trips some times. Really damn well made game, It really felt distincively Metroid, being isolated and alone.

No one ever quotes me. Does my taste in games really differ that much from everyone elses, or is it too generic? Considering only 1 of the next 4 games broke a million sales, I doubt my taste is generic....anyway catch up time.

35. Metroid Fusion (GBA)

     Before Metroid Fusion, I never played a Metroid game before, but I heard a lot of great things about the franchise, and man was I right. I'm not a fan of 2D side scrolling shooters, but this game made me into one. The boss battles were fun, weapon unlocks and special abilities were useful and made sense, and the sci-fi atmosphere was overall very interesting. Imagine that 1 little Metroid saving Samus twice, and damn SA-X was a fun ass boss. This is my favorite 2D Metroid, and one reason why my favorite handheld gen was the GBA. It just had my taste of games. Don't really know what else to say about this game. It's fun, has an interesting story, and because of well placed Save locations, it canbe played in 15 minute intervals.

34. Lost Odyssey (360)

     When I heard that Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creater of the the most notable JRPG franchise left Square Enix to found his own Studio and make this game, as a 360 exclusive. I didn't know what to think. Yes Final Fantasy games have gone down in quality since the days of SNES, but could this game make up for that, or has Hironobu just lost his touch? The simple answer is no. I love Lost Odyssey because it feels like a revitalization of SNES era RPG's. Lost Odyssey to me is that never going to happen Final Fantasy 7 HD remake for FF7 fans. This game plays and feels so much like a SNES game, which unfortunatly hurt reviews. The gameplay is simple, but classic and addictive, the game should get harsh critisizms for trying to play like a JRPG from the time when JRPG's rulled console sales. Anyway, here come some spoilers... The plot in this game is thick. The main character, an immortal badass who literally survived a meteor impact, turns out to be a father who lost his memory when another immortal killed his daughter (or so you thought), and had his wife driven to insanity. Jansen, starts off as a drunk who only cares for prostitutes, later becomes a real good guy and marries an immortal queen. Sarah, a pirate....well I can go on.

     Basically the main character has lived for 1,000 years, and throught the game you learn about some of his life experiences, many of them are tearful, they involve people betraying each other, and killing, many are sappy, which involve Kaim reuniting long lost lovers, but all of them teach you something about human behaviors.

     This is a really interesting JRPG, and I recommend anyone who loves SNES or even PS1 era JRPG's, especially old Final Fantasy titles, to give this game a shot. It's worth every minute, and to date is my favorite HD JRPG.

33. Fire Emblem (7 - GBA)

     Another reason why the GBA generation really reflects my taste in gaming. Many of my SNES favorites saw remakes on the GBA, plus many of the new Nintendo games had similar gameplay to many SNES games I loved. My love for Japanese games is satisfied on the GBA.

     This however was completly new experience to me. Although Fire Emblem has been around in Japan since the days of NES, this was the first Fire Emblem game to be exported outside of Japan, and am I glad it was. Honestly I love the feel of this franchise so much, I am basing my 3DS purchase on the release of Fire Emblem 3DS. The game has aninteresting story, with characters I actually give a shit about. Levels are not linear and can be tackles any way you like, and the level of customizability is prefect. Not too much, not too little. This is a very fun and addictive strategy RPG, and probably the best quality franchise of SRPG's I have ever played. Shame this is a niche genre, and I find niche titles from Nintendo really are the best in the buisness.

32. Stunt Race FX (SNES)

Bet very few people heard of this game. Back on the SNES, Nintendo introduced a chip that would play games with 3D graphics and polygons. However due to the limitations of the SNES, these games were very polygon indeed (e.g. Starfox). However they were among the first 3D games ever made, and you know what? They were fun. Stunt Race FX was my favorite FX game. Graphics were incredible at the time, physics were funny, but solid, and the game was overall fun. Even if the number of oponents was limited to 4, the crazy jumps, truck secret stages, and the need to actually try to race to win, really was addictive. Unfortunatly, you had to play on a screen in game, which really sucked when you had a small screen like me. On road trips I used to play this on a 2.5inch screen, like a DS screen (the TV was 1.5 feet deep, a foot wide, and 6 inches tall....this was portable in 1994), so imagine how I felt.

Shame Nintendo didn't continue this franchise like they did Mario Kart. I actually preffered this over the SNES Mario Kart and who knows what the franchise could have been capable of.

31 - Resident Evil 4 (GCN, PS2, Wii)

I didn't care for Resident Evil in the past and to this day still can't handle playing the first three entries in the series, but Resident Evil 4 took everything I didn't like about the series and replaced it with so many things I loved. The atmosphere was foreboding without being too schlocky, the enemies were creative, the action was plentiful, the weapons fun to use, and even the escort missions were tolerable! Few games have ever nailed basically every aspect you could hope for all at once with so few missteps. If you're looking for a pure fun game, well...I've got a lot of great deals for you...stranger!

Glad to see Sim Tower, that game was great fun. I had the perfect elevator / escalator stratagey worked out with the right distribution of facilities. It was fun to follow people around the tower as well.

Yup, and was the best of the series in GBC and one of the best in all the saga.

The other 2 HM games are  -like you said- the original on the SNES and Back to Nature (the very first HM game I played) 

Isn't that the RTS game?

I beg to differ. RTS games are too slow on consoles, and all the Spartans looked identical. Halo: Reach is my favorite Halo, and Warcraft 3 is my favorite RTS.
