2012 will be the last BIG year in Seventh generation of gaming consoles.The 3DS has already released and WiiU and VITA will follow next year with fast approaching PS4 and XBOX 720.

Really... the only games I'm hugely excited for are Bioshock Infinite and StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm (do we count PC games as "generational" games?).

Other than that... bring on the 8th gen. I'm currently spending hours and hours on the 3DS myself.

FFX is an HD port, does it belong on this list? If so Devil May Cry HD collection.

2012 is going to be the best year ever for gaming (yes I say that almost every year but in this case it is true.

with the gaming line-up for this year i thought that next year would be very quiet on the gaming front indeed... but now i am seriously psyched about borderlands 2, GTA V and halo 4, and 2012 wont be that shit afterall!

I wonder if Sony Santa Monica will put out another God of War, the series is still strong and they released GoW 2 late in the PS2's life. They usually release in the spring though, and since there has been no announcement yet I don't think there will be one this spring. Maybe Holiday 2012 or spring 2013.

You should add Sony Santa Monica to the Big Name Developers cooking mystery list. Media Molecule, Sucker Punch, Guerrilla Games and Epic Games should be added to the list too as they're rumoured to be working on new IPs.
