I believe this 100%.

The next Xbox will release alongside the Wii U.Microsoft knows its best chance with Kinect 2.0 is to outsine Wii pad. It makes HUGE business sense.

Also contrary to popular belief, Microsoft has been concentrating on First Party. There is 3 or 4 new made studios this gen without a release. All these were put together 3ish years ago.

Selnor predicts: Nearly triple First party content from Microsoft with new Xbox. Dediated cores on CPU and GPU that individually handle processes.E.G Physics, AI etc. And no not like Cell.I mean like 20 different cores. And it will not be Intel or AMD. I believe Microsoft have done this inhouse this time. Something built solely for a games consoles needs. No modified CPU or GPU BS put into a console.

Also 2012 Dec 5th. You heard it here first with Alan Wake 2, Fable 4 and a brand new Microsoft Studio with new IP in the adventure vain of Uncharted.

I'm deadly serious.

Gotta admit I had a WTF moment when MS didn't price drop the 360 this holiday. I mean they are gonna be thrown to 3rd place by January if they continue this path.

But......if this is to be believed, it means MS didn't completely loose their minds. They know just how important a head start is, especially since they have to compensate for Japan, so this means they start fresh with the next generation.

And its not like the 360 is finished. The origional xbox lasted 4 years. The 360 lasted 7 if this rumor is to be believed and even then it won't be discontinued, just overlapped by a newer console, like PS3 to the PS2. The 360 gave Sony a run for its money and made them scratch and claw to get not 1st, but 2nd..........when the generation was over lol.

Now the headstart cycle will start all ove ragain. Can't wait. And Halo 4..............guess theyll pull a Nintendo with Twilight princess.

Now it makes sense. MS plans to soak up as much profit this holiday with the current prices. They do the price drop Spring next year now that the holiday season is over and sales drop to normal levels. All as a means to get as much post holiday sales as you can until...........the next gen begins the next holiday.

Speculation on rumors offcoruse, but it explains why MS let this holiday go so easily.

Epic worked incredibly closely with Microsoft and the power of th 360 pushing Microsoft to have another 256mb ram to get 512. 

epic released their next engine of unreal called samaritan awhile back. I bet 100% Epic are optimizing this with Xbox ten. I makes perfect sense. 

Also think about how many engines are ready for next gen. ID Tech 5, Frostbite 2.0, Unreal Samaritan and CryEngine 3 are all engines made for next gen readiness.

So many sigs point to devs knowing the power of Xbox ten already. These devs wil not have been making this stuf with Wii inn mind.

While being in direct competition would be a negative for Nintendo and Microsoft, releasing at (roughly) the same time would probably justify much greater (initial) multi-platform third party support for both of their consoles; especially if performance is similar enough between both platforms (note: running at 720p@30fps on one platform and 1080p@60fps on the other would be similar enough for most publishers). In general this could be a huge benefit for early adopters for either platform because they might see more meaningful support earlier than most systems do.

Actually I've been thinking. A 2012 release for the next box seems unlikely due to the fact that Halo 4 is coming to the 360 in the fall of 2012.....of course MS could also release Halo 4 for the next box too in 2012, which would be bloody brilliant.

I would expect that many of these developers created the system with ALL platforms in mind, including the XBox 360, PS3, PC, Wii U, Next-XBox, PS4 and (probably) even tablets and cellphones that will be released in the next few years. As development costs have increased developers have become more platform agnostic, and in the not too distant future publishers are going to "demand" games be released on any platform that could possibly run them.

but they don't need to and won't.they are still a buisness with a plan and strategy to recover what they invested and plane for the future

their financials are dire cause they invested in PS3 and had a long term plan

everybody wrote them off in 2007-2008 as going bankrupt within a year

their financials current are down because of currency reasons,future plans(ecosystem creation,sony tablets/erricsson purchase/qriocity/VITA/R&D/PS4 investment)

 

Nothing about that is fanciful in the slightest.

anyways let me jst break it down to you why MS will not and doesn't have to(even if they have to beat SONY/NINTY) release next year

 

1)Current crisis and poverty and coming global crisis of next year,europe and usa both have over $30 trillion dollar of debt

2)GTA,COD NEXT,HALO 4 - rockstar and activiosn will fuck MS if they release 720 next year cayse it will go against the sales of GTA and COD partnership they have.Plus HALO 4 release.

3)Alot of other publishers will also not like it and will start supporting WiiU or PS3

4)They don't have enough studios to compete with SONY and NINTY for exclusives

5)Ecosytems are being formed between phones,tablets,PC,Television.The market is no longer open.manufactures can make their own OS and have it on all their devices.They need MS to make them an ecosytem on tablets and phones and pay royalties.

With Android,iOS ecosystems huge userbase.MS will need its own ecosystem.

Apple is gonna converge its MAC and iOS ecosytems,they already have done alot with OSX lion  and

SONY is building its own Network(Qriocity music and movies) which will run through VITA,BRAVIA,PS4,SONY phones(thats why they bought Erricsson share recently).

MS is struggling as it doesn't have a hardware department(for phones,tv,tablet).They are struggling with WP7.they will still try with Windows 8,WP7 Nokia partnership,720.

6)MS has invested big time in XBOX and 360,they are still in RED big time.
