If the doctors giving athletes steroids are guilty when no one gets hurt, Murray has to receive something for killing someone with drugs.

It is a goofy situation. Michael would have gotten these drugs elsewhere had Murray refused, but no matter what if the outcome was him dead, the person administering the drug improperly would be at fault. The hole thing came down to a game of risk. Take the odds that you earn a couple million over 4 years, and Michael is fine, or say no and give up the golden ticket.

Do I think that Murray should be held responsible? Hell no. In my opinion if MJ, Usher, Barry Bonds, Triple H, ect. want to take these risks to better themselves, and entertain it should be their right. However, as the law stands right now Murray must pay.

If you do enough painkillers and other drugs medicine eventually it becomes an addiction no matter what. Any doctor providing care with addictive drugs is also making lots af money and creating addicts. This Doctor just happens to provide drugs to famous/rich people instead of the average person.

it was unclear if the doc straight up gave them directly or if MJ took them himself.  FUrther the drug that killed him is not supposed to be used outside of a hospital so the doc is definetly guilty of something.

I honestly thought this guy was gonna get off. The real crime here is that Michael Jackson isn't currently rotting away in prison for touching little boys instead of being 6 feet under. He got off easy.

MJ died for the people's sins against quality music. I shall await for his Second Coming.

Once again, doctors are supposed to help people. Giving addicts endless supplies of whatever drug they desire is not helping. No doctor in their right mind would do this. So why did Murray do this for MJ? Because MJ was paying him $150K a month to do it.

A doctor is given the power to give prescriptions in order to help people. He abused that power for money and probably just to be close to MJ. He did the wrong thing and now he needs to be made an example of.

Big issue with Cali is that LA and SF metro areas soak up most of the crazy people, thus make insane laws and have knee-jerk reactions to all kinds of things. The state is ruining itself, and verdicts like this just show the state is undergoing a massive decline.

@Raider - the article being from Fox has nothing to do with the issue. The verdict was reported on every major outlet. They essentially broke through on every channel where I live with it - Fox, CBS, ABC, NBC. You should try focusing on the discussion rather than make a lame attempt at an attack of the link.

Yea, I think the doctor was used as a scapegoat, someone for MJ's diehard fans to be angry at for his death.  I think at most he should have been charged with malpractise and had his licensed suspended or revoked.  But to have the charge of manslaughter over his head for the rest of his life is a bit much.
