Forums - Sales - Wow PS3 sales??

What the hell?!

I thought the Playstation 3 was doing good, but now it's all worthless.

So where exactly were PS3 sales taken from? America? Others?

If in others, where?

1) They are guesses when you are using such a small sample data. NPD, Media Create etc.... apply guesses as well but their margin of error is less due to the fact that they have a higher source percentage. There is no way one can have any indication using only 2% source data which caused TheSources prem data, which followed by this sites updated Japan data being woefully incorrect.

2) I understand this point and agree that all trackers do it. I am not disputing that.

3) Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft inform us each quarter, Media Create/Famitsu each week, NPD each month. Europe is the only one that doesn't but it's also the region that has the weakest reliability on this site. Why trust weekly numbers that have a margin for error of 30%+ sometimes when you can get accurate info being a little more paitent?

So according to your credible sources, what is the current worldwide sales for the ds?

I don't know but VGchartz info can be +- 30% so good luck guessing according to that.

Suddenly the gap between the 360 and PS3 looks less impressive. Some celebration may have been premature it would seem. It also would seem the PS3 has a little more work to do to earn its 20% market share.

And once again, people claim the Wii is being overtracked without any evidence to support their accusations.

Take a look at Famitsu data, then take a look at VGchartz data. The evidence is in abundance but only for those who want to see it.

@ Onimusha,

What up? No, they are still celebrating because hay - the PS3 still outsold the 360. A win is a win, baby ...

At the folks who want to complain about the numbers - why hang around with your venom? Take it to another site that cares!

I love you ioi.

Actually, under the right circumstances, a sample size of 2% can be more than enough to make reasonable projections with a small margin of error.

well said, ioi.

It would seem ioi did an adequate job of puting your argument in its place.

When will Sony/MS gamers overcome their denial of the Wii's success. No console has ever been such a cuase for questioning this sites credibility as the Wii has and that is because people don't want to believe its winning.
