the german gamepro has an interview with the famitsu guys in the newest magazine and they asked how they give these points. they said they look at how a game is for the people who like this kind of game. so they don't give the score as a score for everyone they only look at the target audience and that's why a nintendodogs got 40 poinst, they think it's perfect for people who like to play a nintedog game.

they say it's not important for the score if one part of the game is good or bad, only if the target audience will like the game. so if you like 3d mario games you will like mario 3d land. if you like pet games you will love nintendogs. and if you love ego-shooters they just don't say you how you will like nintendogs or mario 3d land.

so it's possible that there are 1000 better games than nintendogs they don't care they will still give these games only 35 points or so and nintendogs 40 points because they think that the 35 point games could be even better for people who love those games but they miss something important for this kind of game.

in the past they only had weather symbols like a sunny/cloudy/rainy pic to review a game haha.
