i would say go with Final Fantasy 9 or Final Fantasy 10

FF9 and 10 are the most noob friendly 3d Final Fantasy game's(maybe even 13)

if it is hard to decide just go to youtube and look up the trailer for each game

Heh, I never once played a Final Fantasy game and enjoyed the story; it's like reading a comic book compared to reading a good novel. I thought FFX's story was bleh, but I guess my intense dislike of Tidus and Yuna really threw me off and made me not care.

EDIT - If you do play FFX through, play FFX-2 immediately. Just be prepared for one of the worst stories ever created, but luckily the gameplay was fun. I still can't bring myself to play more than 10 hours of it.

I like all of them from IV on. Except VIII. Fuck VIII.

My favorites are VII and IX.

If you can't handle old graphics, either wait for X HD. or go for XII. With XII you won't get an actual "Final Fantasyey" experience, but you'll get an excelent game.

Oh and by the way, Final Fantasy games are usually pretty divisive. If you end up liking any of them, chances are you're gonna hate the shit out of some other. That's why asking FF fans for advice is bad idea. Nobody hates FF more than FF fans. Just ask anyone who thinks VI is the best. They wanna stab VII fans in the face.

My personal favorite is FF9, but I like 12 for the crazy huge world and mind boggling amount of stuff to do (100+ Hours). 10 is pretty good, Whereas 6 and 4 are really good. I'd say start with 4 or 6 then play 9 10 and 12

9, 10, 12 is all you should play if you had to pick among them all.

Avoid XIII like it's the plague. Please.

IX is the best Final Fantasy out there IMO.But I started with VI,VII,and VIII.
