Great post by the way Rol let me add to it with this.
There are almost 7 million PS3 in Japan, and there are almost 18 million PSP in Japan. Portable 3rd sold over 5 million copies, and Freedom Unite sold around 5 million copies. What's the odds of every one of those 18 million PSP owners also own a PS3. About 50% but still I bet there are more PSP owners with out PS3 than with it. So how are they playing the game if it has a real online system. Lets be real here Monster Hunter is successful because it's a game the force people to go out, and meet people. Something people in Japan are not afraid to do compare to their American counterparts. Remember Tri had a real online server, and in Japan the charged them for it. So Ad Hoc Party, and Online Servers are too different things. Either way it shows they would rather do with out than pay for a server.
Now on to my own comments. Why are we even talking about a game and it's features. That there is a 30% chance that we may not even get over here? Unless you plan to import the game, and a Nintendo 3DS. Only then should you have even a bit of a problem with how Capcom makes their game. Then I have a simple suggestion for you don't buy it! If Capcom brings the game over here, and that's a if. They will do what is best for the West market, but I doubt they will. Since there has not been any talk about bringing the HD Portable 3rd to the West. At this point I wouldn't when you only manage to get 900,000 plus sales in West "Americans, and PAL combined." Remember Tri is the most successful Monster Hunter in the west so far. If there is a Monster Hunter audience it's not at a point where I would consider doing anything special for them. When that same game can sell millions easily in their own country. Without having to do anything extra except release the game.
Just because someone is saying something different. Doesn't mean their point of view is right!
