Forums - Nintendo - Monster Hunter 3G lacks what made 3 good!

Would this really reflect negatively among the hype?

The portable games have never been online, they're popular because of the gathering like culture they have in Japan with the adhoc parties and such which is why they've always had more content in them. That's why the's such a big difference in who buys the console versions and who buys the portable versions as they aim for different types of social interactions.

I was wondering that too, however Monster Hunter 4 needs online, at least in the west.

Don't hold your breath as we're nothing but a minor blip on the radar compared to the MH userbase in Japan Capcom would never do an exclusive feature like that for the MH series just for the west, a console version of 4 may get online but don't get your hopes up for the portable versions. This isn't like TVC either and Japan have online with TVC regardless as it was rereleased over there.

So 3DS is doom3d? :O

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

to add to the topic. i never played the game online but still thought it was amazing. still need to complete it though :P

Well, I'm not sure how much of a deal it is for the Japanese.... but for me this is a deal killer

No online for Japan in a MH game? Well it will sell ok but it just lost a mountain of sales.

Not a big deal for Japan actually. The only big online MH is frontier, but frontier is a different thing. In the west the two main reasons for the online were that a) People in the west see online as an essential part of any game, and b) because mh3 is actually difficult, beating Alatreon, Joe, or moran alone is really really difficult if not impossible for some people, while in the portable games you can beat any monster alone. If you have played the previous MH you will agree that the only missions were you needed a party were the G rank missions, some of the ancient dragons
& events...

I don´t get capcom. They have online play in all of their other 3DS titles (RE: Mercenaries, SSF IV, RE: Revelations), but won´t have it for the title which would benifit the most from it. It saddens me if they don´t add online for the western market because I´m from Sweden and there just aren´t that many Monster Hunter players that live near me.
I played over 300 hours of multiplayer online in Tri and there is just no chance that I would ever play that much if it is local multiplayer only. Be smart Capcom and add online for the western audience!

But that would make too much sense now wouldn't it?

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

The PSP Monster Hunter games didn't have online either and it worked just fine for those games...
