Because sony cares about the markets especially smaller markets while MS doesn't, it was a pain in the ass for shopkeepers to sell those viva pinata kungfu panda X360 bundles to parents when those games weren't even available in the native language of the parent's children, but also for adults, sony has basically games like singstar in every EU language while Lips only was available with songs from UK or Germany.

- The xbox was not popular, hardly anyone had one.

- Bad press, especially RROD, how many EU countries didn't had a show about the RROD issue and MS? For some it went down to 'if you want to be a horrible parent buy them a X360 and ruin their X-mas'

I think you are absolute right that is the main reason, Sony had because ot the PS1 and PS2 a trust factor.

And I think if Europe would have its own Console manufacturer, the people here would also prefer this one over Japanes and US Companies. Because everyone trust the companies in his own region more than companies from elsewhere, and people know if they buy products from a regional manufacturer they also help their own economy in times of the economy crisis that sure is also a big reason why people rather buy regional products.

I agree with this completely, German car manufacturers are the best of the best, we have tonnes of German cars in the UK.

We have a lot of French cars too, but those are just little shitters for people who can't afford or aren't interested in German cars.
