The thread is an obvious hit and run.

Oh and many of the responses are horrible.

I can understand why Japanese people buy Sony products over american..

but why do European people choose PS3 over the 360?    i mean the 360 has an amazing library!  Forza, Halo, Gears!!  the online is so much better on the xbox!

i just dont understand them..  can someone explain this to me?   especially Germany, France, Italy, Spain  im not talking about UK

The one thing I will never understand is how people claim XBL is better than PSN.Ive played on both roughly alot.Ive never experienced any difference.Online play should be free from the get-go.I dont see why any one would be idiodic to pay for online play.

One of my friends told me the only reason people say XBL is better is because you pay for it.If you were paying for something that your friends werent wouldnt you want to say its better?

Like I said XBL and PSN are the same theres no difference.

PSN Store has better games though.

PS3 is a better product than Xbox 360 IMO. With them being roughly the same price it represents better value for money. Then there's game preference. Gears and Halo are grunty shooters, not to everyone's taste. Forza is a racing sim, GT is a racing sim. It's simply a matter of familiarity and preference there. PS3 has an extensive library of exclusives. 360 has only a few true exclusives, with many of the best 360 games also available on PC. So if you want to maximise your potential HD game library you buy a gaming PC and a PS3. Buying a gaming PC and 360 seems a tad redundant, unless you are a Halo/Forza/Gears fan. I know some people who bought 360s because at the time they were cheaper than PS3's, and they were on a budget, so if it wasn't for the substantial price difference their preference would have been to get a PS3.

Pedigree comes into it, PS brand being more well known, liked and marketed. Sony is a well established electronics hardware brand around the world too, Microsoft is not a well established HW brand they are a well established SW brand. Arguably MS's HW brand is rather poor and only XBox has any HW cred. And when you're talking about electronic devices the whole world knows Japan has a good reputation for electronic devices, so why wouldn't everyone be well disposed towards Japanese electronic products?

In reality it's almost the whole world except North America, the UK and Australia that chooses PS3 over 360. One can understand the USA for patriotic reasons. So really the question is why the other few non-USA 360 preferring countries are different to the rest of the world, not why the rest of the world prefers PS3.

Not sure why online keeps being brought up as a reason people should prefer 360 over PS3. For the online experience I want from my console PS3 delivers perfectly well, and it's free. Perhaps it's a case of people not really wanting that much of an online experience on their console, especially if they have to pay an annual fee.

Maybe they like some variety in their games you know more than 3 exclusives in a year. Or maybe they don't like needing to buy batteries for their controllers, or changing disks all the time. Or maybe they don't like having to pay money to access significant portions of their game regardless of the quality of the service. Maybe they like being able to watch blu-rays.

There are a lot of reasons to buy a PS3 so maybe you should play one and then you might understand.

I agree 100%.Why do I need a Xbox360 when I have a gaming PC.PC can do everything Xbox can do but 100x better.PC doesnt have the games PS3 has so thats why I have a PS3.Thats why Im going to sell my 360 soon because my PC does everything that it can do but better.I keep my Wii for its exclusives and PS3 for its exclusives. The 360 exclusives are on PC so I play them on PC plus they run better on PC.

For the same reason they enjoy having electrical outlets that short out your hair dryer: they just like being difficult.

I've already posted but this is a funny topic, and stupid at the same time.

Why do men like porn more then women, why did motion controls work for wii and not the other consoles including the PS2's wond controller, why is PSeye which has a lot of the same functions as Kinect get over looked?

PSeye can clearly do what kinect is doing with games like ghost recon's gunsmith, ME3's ability to issue orders, or even that stupid zombie game for kinect that just scored a 4/10 here on VGC?

alot of questions can be asked and and mine are for developers/Pub's, and can't be answered by any VGC member.

Quality is the answer to your question, more bang for your buck, better looking games, more innovative games, more games, blu-ray, free to play online, more reliable hardware before the slim and other then the wii, more RPG's.

cops have used it to catch pedophiles online, did something with photosynthesis, is part of a super computer.

why not have a PS3? i've got one reason. taste! And if that doesn't answer your question then nothing will.

It was never a question which console provides the best HD experience, and which one is the better multimedia device.

a blind man knows what most men can't! I hope that helps?
