Another interesting thing in the screens is the flying toad. He appears to be hit could we see pedestrian toads in Mario Kart 7?

Yes, this is it clearly.  Nintendo made Mario Kart fresh by adding vehicular manslaughter.  This is totally typical of them.

Like I said "Appears" in the OP I acknowledge nobody has any idea what is going on with the Toad. But Nintendo included the screen for a reason in their dump. So why did they release that screen? It certainly does appear that the Toad was hit but it could also be a balloon or some other event resulting in a giant Toad.

It sounds hilarious the way you put it, however it would definitely add a new aspect to the game play. I also doubt the Toad would be killed rather knocked out of the way of your Kart. Adding a little cartoon violence to Mario Kart wouldn't hurt the series to much. Then again it doesn't sound like Nintendo to do something that controversial.

Your guess is as good as mine when it comes to that screen!

I find it funny that its the same damn game again but just with a stupid tail thing added O_o

Well the article shows new characters, aspects of the game such as items and objects to interact with. Gliding and flight has never been done before in a Kart racer and it is really fun, trust me I actually played it. There is more new content in this Mario Kart then any of the past games sure when online first made an appearance in MarioKart it was earth shattering but it didn't change how you play the game.

With MK7 Nintendo has fundamentally changed how you play the game, when you jump off a cliff is it advantageous for you to glide over the competition or drop to the ground and try to gain and edge on land. We don't know if the brick blocks are just for show or if they will be implemented in the game. The toad , is it a balloon, pedestrian or prop it certainly hints at yet another new aspect never before seen in MarioKart.

So with all those new features, characters, weapons, level's , game play features like gliding. What do you expect Nintendo to do differently? Mario Kart is a kart racer, there is only so much you can do with a kart racer. Its like looking at the new Forza and saying its the same damn game except for the new cars. Maybe you would be happy if Nintendo took Mario Kart and turned it into an FPS it could be called Mario Kartridge reloaded, would that be the change you want? How do you suggest Nintendo change and evolve the way we play a kart racer without changing the core aspects of what a racer is?

This leads me to believe you have never played Diddy Kong Racing which had planes and hover vehicles for water and multiple paths giving lots of variety and secret paths. That was on the N64 and later on the DS.  So it's not quite as new as you seem to believe.  I will give Nintendo underwater though. I don't recall that being done before.

Oh man! I really want to buy a 3DS just for this game! I love Mario Kart!

Oh crap how could I forget Diddy Kong Racing yah I actually owned it. Though you didn't actually glide in it as far as I remember which is what I was refering to and the water parts I was refering to the under water gameplay in Mario Kart 7. Though I did say flight which was a mistake arrg 3 error this month. Well considering how many threads and replies I have made three isn't that bad lol.

Would you consider this a kart racer?

"Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth." -My good friend Mark Aurelius

Just played MKWii again, after some months... and on the track selection screen some thoughts crossed my mind:

- Wouldn't it be cool if Nintendo included a retro track from a non-MK game? Just one, as a tribute... like... an F-Zero track?
- The retro track names always feature the console it was originally released on. Well, what's missing is the NES! What if Nintendo made a track that looks like what Mario Kart would have been on the NES?

Shy Guy!

Mario Kart 7 is definitely my most anticipated game this year. Even more than Skyward Sword.... O_O
