I started playing League of Legends a couple months ago.  My brother recommended it to me, and the last time he tried to get me into a game he was into I really didn't give it much of a chance so I felt bad and tried it out.  This one stuck. 

You may have seen me there, but I have a completely different username:  FinalFan. 

Of the champions, my favorites are mostly yordles, and of the yordles, my favorite is Poppy. 


She was free in I think the first or second week I played LoL, and I took her randomly but was instantly hooked.  She's great IMO because she's so fast.  Her W skill is, among other things, a 5 second speed boost that when fully leveled gives almost the same boost as unenhanced Ghost.  The cooldowns on her skills are reasonably low (aside from her ult with OMG cooldown of 100-140 seconds) and fairly powerful.  Anyway I need to stop myself because this thread isn't about Poppy. 

What this thread IS about -- or I hope it will be -- is several things.  Firstly, the poll asks what you think about Dominion.  Feel free to discuss that topic here.  Secondly, it's about what champions you like -- like Poppy!  You don't like Poppy?  You can explain that too, here.  And I can explain how you are bad and should feel bad. 

Lastly, and this is what drove me to start this thread, is that you can talk about amazing games you've had!  And it doesn't have to be the whole game, either, it could just be something that happened in a game. 

I was playing Dominion as Poppy (she's my main there; I take her every time I can) and my team wasn't doing too great, though we weren't getting stomped either.  The enemy Kog'Maw was really tearing people apart.  I would focus him whenever I could.  The first couple of times, I got him, but he got me with his death-bomb ability.  But then I got better, or something, because the next couple of times I got away. 

And not just from Kog'Maw, either:  I have dubbed my build Runner Poppy and it is for a reason.  Speed masteries, speed quints, speed from Triforce (and boots obv) -- my goal is to outrun almost all the champs in the game, most of them with the greatest of ease.  I hadn't gotten around to building Phantom Dancer yet. 

So anyway, I had just killed Kog'Maw or Lux or whatever and I was running from Warwick and Xin Shao who stood helplessly by because Poppy's ult lets her ignore everything but her target.  I was pretty low health; I believe that after Lux died (and my shield went down) Xin had managed to charge me and knock me up and he and Warwick beat on me for a little before I could run.  Obviously I popped my W skill so I basically had Ghost.  One of them Exhausted me so I popped my real Ghost.  Walking over a speed shrine helped me keep my distance until Exhaust wore off -- WHAT! -- the other one Exhausted me!  Sigh.  But this is Runner Poppy, so they still hadn't caught up to me.  I had near-maxed cooldown, which means my 5-second speed skill refreshed in about 7 seconds.  Before they caught up to me I managed to pop it again, and at this point they really had no hope of catching me.  But they kept trying. 

But wait!  My escape route took me up the side path of the jungle, across the top, and past my buddy Veigar, who I think altered course to attempt aid.  Of course, he's not the speed demon I am, so Xin and Warwick quickly shredded him to low health, but I came back and wall-stunned Warwick with E and smacked him with Q just because.  Veigar and I ran in different directions.  I'd like to say that I danced around for a bit to tease them into following me, but really it was navigation failure -- I clicked off the side of the pathway and it confused my champion.  Anyway, they chased me instead of Veigar, but I was too far away for Xin to charge me and I just sped off into the distance giggling insanely. 

After the match Kog'Maw told me it was at this point that the tide turned against his team because my team was busy capturing points while his team was busy chasing me across the entire map.

Definitely the type of thing that makes me wish I'd recorded it.

Okay, so the OP inspired me to start recording my games. There's a program called LOLReplay that records games in such a way that it can replay them using the game software itself, which has the upside of each game being a megabyte or two instead of half a gigabyte. If I want to upload to YouTube or whatever I have to re-record using Fraps or whatever but that's a small price to pay.

Anyway, so that arrangement has worked beautifully, except apparently I didn't have it running in a COMPLETELY EPIC game of Dominion I just played.

In this game, I started out rushing the mill as always. Partially capped it while the fight was warming up, then when they stopped me I smacked somebody pretty good, as Poppy tends to do, then got focused, as Poppy tends to do at the mill fight. Managed to run away and retreat to the top area, where I hung out waiting for a good opportunity to risk my last 50 health. Eventually I saw an opportunity and took him out. There was one enemy left but she was chasing my last ally. She killed him but I capped the turret so it was a victory. She came back for me but she didn't manage to finish me and the turret killed her; meanwhile, another, fresher enemy was coming in so I retreated to the top again and picked up the health. An ally fought with him and I came back down and helped kill him. But two or three more were coming so I retreated top again and recalled, signaling retreat.

That's what the whole game was like. I was in the right place at the right time, got the kill or the capture and got away every time. I NEVER DIED, which is very rare on Dominion because usually even if you never get ganked or overwhelmed you'll find yourself in a situation where fighting to the death is the best option.

They tried SO hard to kill me, too. One time I'd just finished killing Ashe or someone, and I had very low health. The two that had been coming to save her were running after me, and Gangplank used his ultimate for no reason other than to try to finish me off. He failed, presumably thanks to both Poppy's passive and my speed. I ran and kept running and got away as always.

(For those who don't know, GP's ult does relatively low damage in a huge long-lasting AOE that also slows you. It's great on Dominion for disrupting people trying to cap turrets.)

I ended the game 15/0/6 with 6 caps and 7 neuts, comfortably in first place. Our nexus still had 384/500 health. AND I DON'T HAVE IT RECORDED!

I like it, Dominion is nice to grab that "first win of the day" extra IP. As a former Dota player I still prefer the normal map and I mainly play LoL because my friends are playing it from time to time.

For Dominion I mostly play Kassadin or Leona.

I've been playing LoL for I'd say 6 months now and I really like it! It's the first game I play for so long. I really am not addicted but I like to play a couple of games per day.

I reached level 30 playing Warwick and Warwick alone l0l  I just loved him so much and I didn't want to try any other champions. My friend then convinced me to try some other champs and I fell in love...

That brings me to the amazing and absolutely OP Soraka! Yes, Soraka. I probably have something like a 8/1 win/lose ratio with Soraka.

I haven't played Warwick since (the nerf also frustrated me).

I play Singed in Twisted Treeline. I also believe Singed is a bit too powerful end game but that's why he's so nice!

So my fav is Soraka and then Singed.

I'm not a fan of Dominion but when I make a game I play with Kassadin.

I mostly play tristana , I tried kog'maw when he was free for the week and that champ seem quite op if you ask me, I was KS a lot by accident because the firing rate is very high with kog late game, I also like garen and ashe but I keep missing them arrows :(

As Kog'maw (and as Trist) you are the AD carry, you are supposed to get the kills. It's a team game, so there really is no such thing as "kill stealing" anyway.

I've been playing for 2 years now. Even though I want to quit at times, I still play it severely too much.

I've been playing it for more than a year and I really enjoy it. I like Dominion, it's a good way to get a quick game before work or class.

My favorite champs are Ezreal:

Best carry in game in my opinion. If you know your skill shots well, you can destroy any carry.

I just like her skill set and she gets extremely deadly with her Ulti on.

Wukong

He's all around great as an assassin, Tanky DPS or a mix of both.

Rumble

He outlines every goddamn mage. People underestimate his damage alot. With his Ulti, Q, ignite and orverheated, it's gg.
