It's because when the N64 came out it wasn't as powerful as the Playstation and Saturn. The GC was sub-par as compared to PS2 and XBox. The only Nintendo system that was above current-gen graphics was the Virtual Boy, and the Wii close behind it.

grass, he was being sarcastic everyone knows the GCN crapped all over the PS2 in terms of performance. (my opinion)

Aaah ok.

Well its not just your opinions - a quick glance at Metroid Prime, REmake, Rogue Squadrom (espcially since it was a launch title) etc. display a market jump from PS2 style graphics.

It better have at least 512MB dedicated memory for the GPU. I know consoles have always been fickle when it comes to total RAM, usually combining the main RAM and VRAM together, but those days are over.

So "a lot more" means what? 1GB RAM or 2GB RAM? Not 4GB surely.

those are just fanboy hate. kinda' reminds me of how the 3DS is somewhat being regarded as inferior to the PSP when all evidence point to otherwise. I kinda' wish Nintendo, started releasing system specs again...though that won't stop the typical anti-Nintendo fanboy.
