lol...why is this even a question (Wii U having more RAM than current generation systems)? It is using a CPU and GPU that is 2 generations higher compared to current generation systems. The logical thing is to at the very least DOUBLE the amount of RAM that any of current system has. Jeez, look at the 3DS (128MB FCRAM) and Vita (512 MB of DDR3) and one can see where the next generation of consoles are headed. Unless one is a Nintendo hater, it's easy to see the Wii U is gonna be a beast when it comes out!!!

It's because when the N64 came out it wasn't as powerful as the Playstation and Saturn. The GC was sub-par as compared to PS2 and XBox. The only Nintendo system that was above current-gen graphics was the Virtual Boy, and the Wii close behind it.

The N64 was more powerful than the Playstation and Saturn. Also the GC was more powerful than the PS2.

o,0 you don't say

Level1Death is correct. It's okay for being wrong, you're just a product of fanboy hype, bias, and ignorance. But hey, now you know!

I'm excited for the Wii U, but I also feel like it's going to be a repeat of this last generation as far as power goes. Nintendo used to be a powerhouse console developer, but they've apparently learned not to overshoot and now undershoot their competitors. It's fine but I do wish it was even more powerful.

Wow, nice to see how it feels like to be on the other side of the fence. For the record, I was being sarcastic. LOL!!!!!

wfz after a year of me actively posting you should know by now that I have a pretty good depth on video game history. It's my forte.

For Level1Death to legitimately be correcting me, I would have to say something very, very dumb.

To be fair, I have no idea who you are. :P Probably because I don't post as often as I used to. Glad to hear you were being sarcastic though! It always makes me sad when I hear people legitimately saying those things.

1 gig of ram is becoming the minimum for smartphones. Anything less than 4 for the next xplay is unacceptable.

glad you guys aren't one of those ppl that still think Nintendo doesn't release top-tier quality consoles!!!  I actually got the sarcasm right away just read the line I highlighted in italics and u can tell he was sarcastic.  I don't blame Level1 though as many people in this particular site still think that the PSP's capabilities are  superior to the 3DS. (the RAM alone can see the 3DS superiority 128MB FCRAM vs 32-64MB unknown RAM for PSP)

Yeah it's gonna be a minimum of  1GB of RAM for the Wii-U in order for it to utilize the capabilities of the CPU and GPU of the Wii-U console.  The wild card here is what/how much RAM and what CPU and GPU is Nintendo gonna use to run their tablet controller!?  They may be able to use a modified and boosted version of the 3DS' ARM11 and PICA200 to cut cost but we just don't know at this point.

The Wii U controller doesn't need RAM or a CPU/GPU it's just a screen with a wireless input, all proccessing is done on the Wii U it's self and just streamed to the controler.

It must still need something to process all that data when you step out to continue your game in a diffrent room.  I don't know too much about how the controller will do that.

the controller is not a portable system, it will only work while it's within wifi range of the console.
