"Few questions -

Regarding the 60 = hours of playtime : How many of those hours are from trial and error deaths? Or repeating sections again and again to try and pass it?

ALSO - For a game that you are guaranteed to die in a hell of alot: can you have multiple saves?"

Poor thing, multiple saves. Obviously never really seen or heard of Demon's Souls.

Looking damned awesome, and glad to welcome PC and 360 gamers to hell.

The level of arrogance one gets from the demon's souls hardcore community is amazing.

Not sure if you are one of them though. But I have seen a lot of "gamers" who act like its some kind of an achievement to play demon's souls or to like its difficulty.

As time goes on gamers will be younger and younger, so obviously they will ask questions.

^It's not an achievement, the difficulty is highly overrated.
It's challenging, and nothing more. There's no unfairity in it - if you die, it's either your ignorance of the enemy's abilities, or plain ol' mistake by you.

After one spent 10+ hours just to pass the level 1.1, where many other miserably gave up and sold the game, some level of arrogance is acceptable. Demon's Souls wasn't just hard for the heck of it. There is a "run speed" video in YouTube where the guy has beaten the game in less than 1 hour!! So it is playable. But it is a totally demanding game. Any mistake count. Even dropping the controller a second, to answer the phone or else, unfortunately. It may push the L2 or R2 button and hit a very precious NPC that can get angry with you until you kill him or her. With autosave in a locked gamesave doing the job of ruin it forever (hint: PS3 users, subscribe to PS Plus. The gamesaves upload feature will be a life saver!!).

It's a bloody experience, but because of that very gratifying. At least in DS one just doesn't have to give up. Every little progress counts, and once 1.1 has been completed one can start to upgrade, which will make the game easier (eve if not THAT much!!).

Have an happy dying!! You deserve it!! :D

What's the best way to deprive yourself of ignorance in demon's souls?

Always walk with your shield up, and upon meeting the enemy, backroll just in case ;)

Constantly keeping distance also helps... sometimes.

Take everything slow. If you nail down enemy patterns, you nail down the game.

I consider this kind of comments much more arrogant! :p

It isn't that easy, not when one just starts the game. Even with the shield up there are good chances of falling in a ambush and die. What distance do you keep when those b@stards come out from nowhere? Then if they hit the shield the stamina has gone in a couple of shots. Sure now I can easily beat 1.1 but I spent hundreds of hours replaying the game for the platinum.

I knew some of that already. I completed the game, I was just wondering how I was to know all these without dying.

Also one can die because of rocks falling from the sky. This happens in 5-1 and there's no warning either. No way to now other than trial and error.

My best part in the game was killing the final boss in 1st arch-stone on my first try. Reaching him was a little difficult because of online black phantoms.

That's you. I didn't find it hard and people saying that OMG IT IZ EPITOMZ OF HARDZ is something I find really annoying. It's logical, and it's challenging. You're hit in the shield? Back away. You're being swung at? Move away. There is no real assault from nowhere in the game, aside from those damn Latria Wardens.

Myself? I cleared 1-1 at my second try. Mainly because on the first one, I veered the wrong way and fought the red eye knight instead of the blue. Being a lowly level 1 soldier, he blitzed me.

Lol for like the first 10 hrs of the game i didnt use a shield or armor (chose barbarian witch he didnt come with anything but a mace) cause i just assumed that blocking with a shield only reduced a small percentage of the damage, so i thought "F it may as well just dodge the attacks".. so i did, and i didnt use armor because when you have heavy armor on your roll goes super slow... So i just ran around butt nekid with a 2h. I also killed the very first boss (that your ment to die on) its super easy cause if you have no armor on you can easily out maneuver him
