i think we're overtracking Gears 3 but not much
geass can beat Gears 2 NPD numbers (1.56m),but i think Madden 12 will beat Gears 3(all platform+5 weeks in first moth of NPD,Gears 3 just 2 weeks)

In the UK, GAME are giving the Gears launch the COD/Halo treatment, authorising payments early and setting up shipments in good time due to the huge numbers of pre-orders.

Yup, my copy has already been shipped, so I am hoping to get it some time this week....

2m is ridiculously good, though I am quite happy about Uncharted 3's solid 300k pre-orders, and should hopefully be able to make 1m WW launch, which does look a bit pathetic compared to Gears admittedly...

One would think with these kind of numbers GoW will sell over 2.5 million week 1 which i dont think it will. Lately VGZ software numbers have become joke be it sales o pre orders, only hardware numbers are in line with NPD.

wow COD PS3 is really low, I wonder why? 360 version on the other hand is doing amazing.

As is Gears, I too hope it doesn't disappoint and posts 2.XX first week in America, that'd be amazing.
