Sadly my store will not have a midnight launch for the game (Gears) :( 'Sorry mate we only do it for big games like COD/ battlefield/Uncharted (yes Uncharted will have an midnight launch o_o )

I'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks Gears 3 numbers are way too high. I mean don't get me wrong, i love gears and will be buying it but the TPS genre doesn't seem to be as popular as FPS, Gears 2 did about 1.5m first week didn't it? this is projected to do 2.5+ if you include worldwide sales.

Either way i hope it breaks 2 mil first week that will be a great achievement.

Also Zelda's preorders starting to build up, always thgouht the numebrs were low and it needed a relase date/bundle announcement. Do you think it could surpass WW sales? WW did 800k first week according to Nintendo, same with Smash Bros Brawl(in america)

Probably something to do with Uncharted 3, i know a hell of a lot of peopel who aren't bothering with COD because of hwo close to release it is to Uncharted 3. Now COD will sell more obviously but UC3 no doubt has the bigger exclusive draw.

I am not sure, that is pretty much what I am doing, also getting Battlefield 3 instead

Gears 2 sold 1.56 first month acording to NPD.  Cant see Gears 3 doubling those sales this time around.

Rage looking like it'll do all right on 360. But it's not going to set the world on fire.

I really hope UC3 has a 1 million (WW) opening week. I might just have to help it along.

I wonder if the CoD franchise reached its zenith on PS3 with Black Ops. Didn't Black Ops reach 1 million pre-orders on PS3? Looks like MW3 might not make 1 million. Interstingly It looks like the PS3:360 ratio for MW3 and BF3 are about the same, so I don't think PS3 gamers are moving across to BF3 in any greater proportion. I suppose Uncharted 3 might be having some effect on MW3.

Skyward Sword just jumped by more than a third of its previous number if this is correct. Nice.

Actually that is quite surprising, FIFA 11 only sold 97k in its first week and 285k in total, and is already at 174k in pre-orders (all numbers for PS3)

(for comparison, first week in EMEAA was 1.1m)

I'm finding really strange that ps3 versions used to sell about 60-80% of 360 one but preorders are about a third... any explanations?
