As you can see F4 is tracking quite far ahead of F3
I'll never understand how Battlefield got so huge. Thee's been minimum advertising outside of the internet, so you would think only informed gamers (+BC2 fans) know about the game.
I guess informed gamers are more abundant than we once believed.

Well, it has been riding on CoD's popularity, and CoD is pretty much known everywhere. All it really takes is one person to say that X game is going to rival CoD, and if the game looks good, then people show interest in it. Word of mouth pretty much.
Also, Battlefield this gen has been known as CoD's rival. EA is just doing a good job at making sure the CoD community knows about it.

I dont think thats right.
Forza 3 - 5 weeks out looked like this: 5 weeks to go: 11k - 115k 4 weeks to go: 12k - 127k 3 weeks to go: 20k - 147k 2 weeks to go: 18k - 165k 1 week to go: 30k - 181k (doesn't add up so must have been an adjustment) So Forza 3 had 181k pre orders for the final week and 224k sales in americas first week (471k global) |
I'm just going by what the Vgchartz pre-orders show.
Week 5 for F3--http://www.vgchartz.com/preorders.php?date=40083
Week 1 for F3--http://www.vgchartz.com/preorders.php?date=40111
Nah, Forza wasn't adjusted. I did my Pre order article in January and that showed 143k as well.

I don't know what to say. How do I know which one is right and which one is wrong?
| Allfreedom99 said: It appears from the chartz that Gears 3 is going to do much better than Gears 2 on release week. If pre order numbers hold up I wouldn't be surprised if we see a 2.5 million first day and 3 to 3.5 million first week (Possible it could hit 4 million IMO) WW. Gears 3 will by far be the biggest Gears game in sales yet. |
As for MW3 (PS3), the previous PS3 versions of COD especially Black Ops were awfully buggy on release, and all COD DLCs have been released preferentially first on xbox360. I wonder if that's why the preorders on PS3 are lagging. Same go for Skyrim (PS3), another Bethesda game with DLC being released first on xbox360.
As for Uncharted 3, I bet the US preorders will start picking up. Almost unprecendented for PS3 games, Sony/Naught Dog are doing major TV advertising of Uncharted 3 couple of month prior to release AND the commercials are on mainstream TV on major networks during NFL games. I've seen plenty of Killzone 3 commercials on G4TV or Spike TV, but I don't understand why you would advertise on those stations where most viewers/fanboys already are aware and will buy games regardless of advertising. Some of my friends have gotten Black Ops as gift from girlfriends or whoever because of awareness from ads on mainstream TV. People that don't play video games know or heard of Call of Duty/Black Ops whereas they haven't heard of Killzone or Infamous.
