Those screens are tremendoulsy exciting! I've been re-playing FFXIII lately, and improving a hit like that will make FFXIII-2 just terrific!

What? Why SE why? Time travel always makes stories too confusing...

But I am still getting it, I liked XIII so I reckon I will like this one too

Time travel makes everything awesome.

It never makes things awesome, all problems can be solved by going back earlier in time. Lost was pretty much the only storyline which got away with it, because of the way that the story worked up till there

Excuse my negativity but in my opinion FFXIII-2's story is destined to suck anyway. Motomu Toriyama is a talentless hack when it comes to stories, what he does do well is gameplay (as was seen in FFX-2 but for some reason in XIII he decided to go the opposite way). While they have hired a professional novelist to help with XIII-2's story I am not holding my breath.

I am excited for this feature because of the gameplay possibilities for this which from the interview sounds very exciting, so I'm not worried about the story sucking more as it was bound to anyway. This will actually make the game have choices and make the game have replay value (both of which the original title lacked).

it all sounds great and i hope it comes together well

I'm not going to judge the game before release but I can say that the PAX demo almost put me to fucking sleep. It was THAT boring for me. They might still improve some of the textures before release so I'm not gonna bitch about that part.

Is it just me, or did it sound like there won't be a world map after all?

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

Yeah, I guess you can mess up if you rely on a single trick but other than that, I love time travel.

Well let's wait and see, but I don't feel that choices and replay value are that important in these games. Even with choices, i don't necessarily feel that it leads to replay value in most games, as I have crafted my universe and that is how it is, what leads me to replay Mass Effect was different classes not so much the choices

While it seems to be adding tonnes of new great aspects to the game over its prequel, I don't like the sound of multiple endings in a Final Fantasy. I know people didn't like the linearity but they didn't have to go that far.

The screenshots look gorgeous though, especially that red chocobo in the snow, and Lightning's CG shots (new background).
