While it seems to be adding tonnes of new great aspects to the game over its prequel, I don't like the sound of multiple endings in a Final Fantasy. I know people didn't like the linearity but they didn't have to go that far.

The screenshots look gorgeous though, especially that red chocobo in the snow, and Lightning's CG shots (new background).

Agree, when you have a game that's part of a series (and by series, I mean a series set in the same universe), it feels strange to have many endings of which only one can be considered right or true or something.

the time travel is probably very important in relation to what ending you get. multiple endings makes me feel pressure to get the best one. i wonder if they are totally different or just a small added sequence like ffx-2.

That's how I feel, hopefully it's just an additional cutscene or something.

I dunno, I feel the point of additional endings is pointless unless they do actually have some meaning, I want to at least see that my final choice has had some impact, which was one of the dissapointing aspects of ME 1, as the final choice didn't make much difference in ME 2

I disagree, if they are doing multiple endings they should go all the way, not make half assed ones.

They said this in the FFXIII-2 fan meet (recruitable chocobos in battle were confirmed too):

Regarding multiple endings, the plot will branch out quite a bit. Lindzei, Pulse, and the Goddess Etro of the Fabula Nova Crystallis mythology are the “axis” of the story.

It's called Domain Squatting, remember the fiasco that happened with Modern Warfare 3? Companies to it to protect IP's rather than actually making it.

Not impressed with the pictures. Ground textures, tress and at some parts the characters looks a bit pixie. Except for the CGI parts of course.

"This is the first time time travel has featured so prominently in a FINAL FANTASY game, is this something you'd like to explore more in future games?"

This is wrong because in this expansion pack it features time travel, "Final Fantasy XI: Wings of the Goddess"

that would be a mess if they really plan on a third game. i hope, if there really is a huge difference between endings, they end it right there and not make another one.

It kinda looks like the XBOX 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII.

It looks like it would on a TV if you cranked the "sharpness" up, it looks a mess anyway and definitely shouldn't look like that in the final game.

I don't know about that...

I want a story to be told to me, not to make it myself. Like Zkuq said, you don't know which ending is going to be the "right" one, this wouldn't work in an FF game.

With how terrible FFXIII's story tellers (Toriyama, Watanabe) are I'd rather make my own story thank you (although I highly doubt we get to make many choices, ultimately I still expect a rather same tale maybe with a split point 3/4ths into the game where it can go in 3 directions). You don't need to know which ending is the right one if it's satisfying in it's context, maybe the endings can be in parallel to one another, maybe not. We don't know this now, from a gameplay perspective it's good. All I know is that the ending better be more satisfying than the awful FFXIII ending.

I think a difference between you and I is that you have some sort of hope for the story of this game (I don't), for me the game is going to be all about it's gameplay, I am fine if story is sacrificed for that (XIII sacrificed too much for story as it is), I am always willing to be surprised by a decent story; however low I feel the chances of that may be.

The graphics aren't an issue here, FFXIII (PS3) looked just like that if you look at some pictures on the internet pre-release, the ground textures were terrible in the game. This screen for example

Is this how FFXIII looked on a TV in motion? No. Even in motion though extures left a lot to be desired, so will XIII-2's as they are on the same engine. I may be in the minority but I don't feel FFXIII has great graphics, they are erratic and shoddy from a technical perspective. Great art direction? Yes. Great graphics? No.
