Can Disney beat Universal's record 2015 domestic gross - $2.445 billion?

It will fall short of tha... 4 13.33%

Finding Dory, Doctor Stra... 20 66.67%

It's going to be very cl... 6 20.00%

Total:30

I think The Amazing Spider-Man will end up making somewhere between $700 to $800 million world wide not as much as the studio hoped but still will be profitabe by the box office alone. Plus I already said it will make tons of more money from merchandising.

Spidey is a huge failure domestic....it'll see a 40-50% ticket sales drop from spider-man 3...that's inexcusable.

I think so far spider-man is doing good

So far the amazing spiderman has over 340 M worldwide. Thats a very good opening, In the end the movie will making something between 700-900m worldwide.

Not bad i would say.

And for some guys wondering the decline in the US. What do you expect.

1. Its a reboot with a totally new cast and not a long awaited sequel
2. The third spiderman was critically a failure and become the worst spiderman of the three so its only normal that the name spiderman is hurt because of part 3 and many people lost interest after part three

So anybody which call amazing spiderman a box office failure has no plan hows movie buisness work.

The Amazing Spider-Man could have done a lot better domestically it did better overseas it already made $201 million. Next weeks number one movie Ice Age 4 is doing good also it already made $198 million and is still on pace to become the second highest grossing animated movie overseas behind Toy Story 3. Its already the second highest grossing animated movie overseas this year behind Madagascar 3 which it should pass in total overseas gross in about a week. Also my prediction that The Avengers not going back into the top 10 domestically came true it dropped two spots from last week and finished in the 12th spot and it was actually in the top 10 last week after the adjusted numbers came out it beat People Like Us by $166,248. With People Like Us being barely ahead of The Avengers again in the preliminary numbers it could end up in the 11th spot when the final numbers are released.  Did a double check on box office mojo and Ice Age 3 is actually the highest grossing animated movie overseas with $690.1 million earned Toy Story 3 made $648.2 million.

Well, there's not much to talk about as Spiderman was kind of expected to flop in my opinion. There were already 3. How many more are needed?

It's still a domestic failure if you compare ticket sales, no two ways about it. SONY will not admit it though.

a 40-50% drop in ticket sales is close to unprecedented for a franchise this big. As I said that kind of a drop is mind boggling. I don't think spidey 3 was hated enough to justify that kind of a drop.

Yes it's a reboot, but the most popular thing about spidey is..spider-man. The original cast was excellent in my opinion, but that's not what the majority of the audience felt...so I don't see how they got so attached as to not even turn up for this new movie.

Lets not even compare TASMS's ticket sales or even gross to Spidey 1's...the picture gets even worse.

Overseas is saving it right now.

Now if the movie had Word Of Mouth like Batman Begins we could be set up to a TDK-esque rise for part 2...but that's all in the air. Actually Batman Begins ticket sales were pretty dire compared to the original Batmans...I can only hope we see a TDK-eque rise for this new spider-man series.

Long live Raimi.

This made much more than I thought it would, but cost a lot more than I thought it would as well. Darn you Travolta!

I'm glad that movie's not doing well! It looks so... stupid.

I have already forgotten the name of the actor from this movie, John Carter, Battleship and Wolverine, but he is a great actor! That is the only reason I would see this.

Now go to bed or watch some Breaking bad on American Movie Classics.

You are lucky we don't have Dish Network or that comment would've been a slap in the face!
