Movies that have scenes filmed in China or bonus scenes just for China like Iron Man 3 did usually do very well in China.  Plus with Transformers 4 the scenes shot in China where a additional bonus since they where full of product placements from Chinese companies.

Furious 7 just passed Harry Potter and the Deadly Hollow Part 2 as the 4th highest grossing movie of all time. Who would of thought that something like this would ever happen?

Looks like Avengers 2 will only make slightly more then the first one world wide and will make less money then the first one in North America.

The pacquiao/mayweather fight definitely did some damage.

It should do just about as well as the first by the end of its run anyway. 1 billion on lock.

Incredible isn't it?

We should wait until next weekend to judge how much Age of Ultron will make overall. It might just have better legs than the first because people aren't rushing to see these superheroes brought together for the first time now.

I see this one making about 550 domestically, and 1200 internationally, so 1750 total. I only have it that much higher because the international market is larger and China is massive. I figure it'll make 300 in china alone.

Either way, amazing. I still don't think Furious 7 deserves the money it's making.

AoU won't deserve it either. It's true that China is bigger but I think there will be drops elsewhere - like the US and Australia.
