What I think is "sillier" than people thinking the moon landing was fake, is that the heavily in debt US government is spending billions and billions of dollars each year on a manned mission to Mars; and how all of those who support it think that this landing will magically result in a means for people to terraform Mars and move our population there - meaning, for them, it is OK to trash our current planet because we'll all be going to a terraformed Mars soon anyway.
Completely ignoring that the manned mission to mars is already expensive enough for a small craft, what sort of expenses and resources will be required for colony ships to Mars? Why on Earth do you think a Terraformed Mars, which will both be colder, and with a lower gravity, would be superior to Earth? And how do you think it will be possible to terraform Mars?
Wouldn't just a little environmentalism be much much easier?
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
In practice, these pictures will probably convince as many "moon truthers" as any "proof" for a moon landing conspiracy would convince the other side: None.
Conspiracy theorists and the rest of the population actually behave rather similar. Neither side has undoubtable, definite proof of their version. Yet each side considers anything that seems to support their own version as a definite proof, while they are instantly aware of any doubts that can be brought up against anything that seems to support the other side's version.
In this case, conspircy theorists would probably point out that th pictures could be photoshopped, that some lines on what might or might not be the moon don't prove anything, and that even if it was proven to be tracks on the moon that still doesn't really prove that man was there: You'd be able to find similar tracks on Mars as well where mankind has never set foot. Just like the reflecting mirror on the moon, considered by many as a definite proof of mankind on the moon, doesn't actually prove anything as well: The russians placed at least two of those on the moon as well, yet they never set foot to the moon.
And last but not least, remember that not all moon truthers think the same: Many people are only sceptical about Apollo 11, as most indications for a possible moon landing conspiracy are related to that particular mission. These people don't generally consider all moon landings fake, they don't doubt the Apollo missions brought man to the moon. The pictures won't prove anything to them because they don't show anything Apollo 11-related.

I think you completely misinterpret the intention of the mars missions. The scientists don't think: "Hey, let's polute the earth and simply move on to mars as soon as the situation here gets uncomfortable!"
If a bigger asteroid hits earth, all human life on earth will be extinct. And the question isn't IF it's going to happen, the question is WHEN this is going to happen: Next week? Next year? Next millenium? In several billion years? Nobody knows. Mankind will only have a chance of survival if by the time we have found a way to live on another planet or in space.
Currently, protecting the earth's environment is definitely more urgent, but that doesn't mean there is no sense in researching possibilities to populate other planets already now.
The moon landing happened. Does honestly someone think the sovjets would let the americans get away with a fake moon landing ?
And does someone honestly think the americans would fake a moon landing despite knowing that in the future once other nations make pictures of the moon or send people up there, they will be caught lying and humiliated ?
Also they positioned a mirror on the moon so a laser beam would be reflected. Everyone was able to test that. You can test it even today everyone who watched big bang theory (the sitcom) has witnessed it how it works. To fake the moon landing the americans would have to REALLY send a robotic mission to the moon to position that mirror. At the same time they pretended to land on the moon and made a fake one in a studio broadcasting it in a way that make it seem it came from the moon. They would have to spend the same amount of money and develop the same technology thats neccessary to land on the moon to fake a moon landing all that KNOWING future generations WILL discover their lie. Unless they send several unmanned vehicles and robots ( which were technologically impossible in the 60/70s) to the moon to make it look like there was someone.
Thinking the americans did all of this to back up a lie that will be found out especially if its really impossible for man leaving earths EM field. is stupid. You can make a wrong conclusion if you dont have all the information but knowing everything and still spouting nonsense is trolling.
No wonder Buzz Aldrin beat up a guy that called him a liar. You risk your life just so a troll can call you a liar.
I have to say though those pictures proof nothing. Ofcourse it would be pointless to fake them though as the people who think there was no moon landing wont be convinced at all. Even if there will be another moon mission and they will bring back HD video footage from the landing sites (if they land there) people still wont be convinced.
Its pointless to convince the people anyway. What for ?

Precisely! I'm not going to believe a word that comes out of those NASA liars until they take me on an all expenses paid tour of the Moon landing sites.
I've written to them so many times making this suggestion in order to finally settle the matter, but for some reason they've never been in touch with me. For some reason the receptionist has stopped taking my calls too.
Perhaps someone can put in a good word for me.

We do know a rough time scale when it will happen. The age of planet surfaces is determined through the number of impact craters. Venus has few so surface is young. Moon has a lot surface is old.
A huge catastrophic impact should happen roughly every 100 Million years like the impact that lead to the extinction of the dinosaurs. Bigger impacts than that every 500 Million years. But its possible to prevent impacts like these by spotting those asteroids/comets early and slowly alter their path.
