There a lots in life when you dont need a confirmation. This is called deductive reasoning, There a few exceptions but usually there is only 1 reason why your forced to be online. Couple this with multiple rumors from different all saying the same thing, usage fee was actually listed there powerpoint showing, and this Square Enix. The hints are all there now put them together.


Don't get me wrong, you're most likely right, but of course some confirmation would be nice. Still though you're most likely right, never said you were wrong.

This is just like the PS Vita with the 3G service.

its not like PSV at all, for one your comparing a console to a single game and two you always have the option to buy the one that doesnt have WiFI

I don't understand why you would need a constant internet connection to play/beat the game solo... why wouldn't they just split the game into two parts and have a single player story mode and the online multiplayer mode?

When you have a long-time franchise, especially a major RPG franchise like DQ or FF, it's generally a good idea not to stray too far from the formula... otherwise you end up with crap like FFXIV online.

could this game be DQ FF14?? How crazy would that be, a game that no matter how big of a fan of said series you are that it is generally poorly received??

Nowhere in the quote does it say that there's a CONSISTENT connection required. It just says that you need an Internet connection to finish the game. As far as we know, that could just mean that there's a part of the game that forces you to try it out online before you can continue the story. Considering the fact that the "DQ Three" are still all fulfilling their traditional DQ development roles, I highly doubt that Yuji Horii would allow the game to go that kind of bullshit direction without losing him.
