Forums - Nintendo - Despite price cut, is 3rd party support for 3DS doomed?

Despite the recent surge from the price cut, it seems as though there are still people convinced that the 3DS is going to lose all third party support to the PSV, what with the announcements happening from Famitsu (LKS being the recent example).  Is the system really done for?  Will Nintendo have to support it alone?  I hope not, especially considering how hard they've fought for this kind of support.

I dont believe NINTENDO is in any trouble as of yet, DS suffered a similar situation and look where it is now... but I do believe VITA is the biggest threat the NINTENDO has ever faced in the handheld console market. Im not gonna lie, VITA is look fiery hot atm and currently is beating 3DS at just about everything Xxcept being available. Launch lineup for VITA is probably the best in xxistence.. something for everybody and ALL of it is quality ( xxcept motion fighters) and great pricepoint ... I can see why developers are favouring VITA. Like i said I dont believe 3DS is any real trouble and unlike SONY has the power of defacto handheld brand ... but will have to seriously fight to get that this round.

I don't see why third party support would just default to the Vita, though it may play it in a more case-by-case basis than we are used to, or just see more multiplats like the 999 thing

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Way I see it, both systems will be supported, but in the end 3DS may be the winner.

"DS suffered a similar situation and look where it is now..."

That's forgetting WHY it happened, which is not really a factor this time.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Give it some time Tnk.. NINTENDO will get it gear. I highly doubt They'll let 3DS crash and burn.

If Vita gets better support then 3DS is dead.  And I know that 3ds will never, ever, ever, EVER get better 3rd party support.

But the 3DS has Nintendo games and that's really the only thing it needs.

It doesn't matter.  Nintendo has said they wanted to get better third party support, and prove that they can also sell on 3DS.  I'm worried that it is already too late and that they will already fail in getting the support they deserve.

On the other hand, it IS possible for the 3DS to initially feel threatened but then ultimately come through, compelling more 3rd parties to stay on after all.
