I hope so. They've been making it for ages so I'm sure they will make it non-linear and as big as possible.

been making 15 for ages? No I dont think it will be that open in my opinion ff games aren't as open as people make the out to be in general. Though i Think it wont be as linear as 13.

There hasn't been ONCE a mention that they started working on 15.

At this point in time, it's only YOUR assumption that they're working on it right now.

I don't want to sound like a traditionalist (I'm not, I love change), but I think the best they could do would be to make it much like every final fantasy up to IX, caves, dungeons, cities, and various other locations on top of a massive, global world map. the story can still be linear and to-the-point while giving those of us who have been with them as long as I have something to do on the side, exploration to do, sidequests galore. That's what made me fall in love with FF.

Hmm, Red Dead, Fallout 3 and Oblivion have tiny worlds compared to the usual scope of Final Fantasy games. I don't think it will work, the world would either have to be shrunk to a scale that wouldn't do the series justice or the design team would need ten years to build the world alone and the game would ship on ten Blu-ray discs.

No. It could get more open areas like FF XII but it will never see vast open areas like those games.

If FFXIV is that big then FFXV will aim to be that size, too. Just like how FFXII aimed to be around the same size as FFXI.
