Why would anyone get the 3ds version over a 3 game collection which has better graphics, controls and includes trophies/achievements? For playing mgs on the go? Not gonna seal many deals imo.

This is almost like Ghost Trick, only much worse.
For Ghost Trick, they release on DS full price and then release on Appstore some months later with upgraded graphics at 1/4 the price.

Similar thing happened to Puzzle Quest before that on the DS, too.

It's just that, 3rd parties feel very comfortable charging (often a lot) more when they put their games on Nintendo Platform.

maybe because they know people will buy it for that price??

Knowledge is the wrong hord here. Hope is a more fitting term.

havent people been buying the DS versions for whatever price??? But then again i dont know how well the IOS versions do so, who knows

What it proves is, really, they are charging you "hardcore" price for a "casual" priced game.

The only thing that third party publishers will accomplish with this strategy is that their games will effectively become $10 products. Less revenue, less profit.

Or that, their games, are actually worth $10 to begin with. But it's "okay" to sell for $40 and then blame Nintendo.

Wow, that sucks. What does the 3DS holiday look like now, gameswise?

Well the only one I can think of is Mario Kart 3D, which has been given a Holiday 2011 Release frame but no solid release date yet.

They is also Super Mario 3D (Winter 2011), Tales of the Abyss 3D (10th November), One Piece (November), Dr Lautrec (Autumn) and Kid Icarus (2011, but Q1 2012 here in Europe), all which I am hyped varying degrees for.  Japan also has Fantasy Life (Winter), Inazuma Eleven (2011) and Rune Factory 4 (2011) I believe as well.

well hell, we all knew that, but if we want them to stop, we need to not buy those games

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D launching Winter 2012

From winter 2011 to winter 2012. Pointless game, wonder how they are going to sell it now, and if this has anything to do with Wii U.

"¡Viva la Ñ!"

As a firm believer that MGS3 is the greatest game of all time, I now have no plans to ever buy this game for the 3DS.

or they don't want to release it in holidays due to Nintendo's beasts, or waiting for 3DS sales to increase

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^
