His actions weren't rational, for sure. He was never going to destroy the Labour Party this way, and now it's harder to be an immigration skeptic in Norway today than it was yesterday. But engaging in irrational behavior isn't necessarily the same thing as having a clincal disorder.

Is it not an allusion to the difference in reporting of this event, by the media, minutes after it happened (when nothing was known and speculation about muslims and al-queda was rampant) and a few hours after it happened (when it was discovered to be a blonde, white guy acting alone)?

I've read a few excerpts from various forums that are trying to correlate his blog/book statements.

Essentially this is my understanding:

Guy has bad childhood due to getting in fights with Muslims. Believes they are taking over Europe, and blames socialist/labour politicians for letting them in. So he coldly caclulates how to massacre their children at a camp. Hits the PM building with bombs as a diversion, so he can attack the kids at this camp. He wasn't an adherent to religion outside of a vague belief he was doing it for "The Church" although condemns the Protestant church (as he believes his 'good works', not God's grace will get him to heaven). He also cited "training" via Modern Warfare 2 which he expoused as being critical to his training :-

He seems fully conscious of what he's done. He is not 'crazy' in the sense that he randomly did this. It took a cold, calculating psycopath on the level of movie villians to do this.... Not a fly-by-night ruffiant.

Sounds like something out of a Uwe Boll film. Horrible stuff. My prayers are with everyone involved in the tragedy.

While there are certain mental health issues which obviously would limit the ability to create effective plans, I highly doubt that most mental illness would have a significant impact on a person's ability to plan, or execute their plan; which is one of the reasons why people who act alone are so dangerous.

Except this had like.... 3 times the deaths... and in the fort hood case he used specific clearences to get past security. Had he used the same techniques as the guy in this case... he'd of been arrested at the front gate.

No country is safe from spree killers no matter your beliefs.

Reason is, most spree killers are ultra paranoid conspiracy theorists... even if your the most peaeful nuetral country in the world, a spree killer in waiting will just see  it as part of the conspiracy of you working for the Free Masons, or Illuminati or jews or whatever.

I'd bet money on him having a sevre paranoia disorder and believing in one of the "Big 3" conspiracy groups as real.

So, is anyone actually going to answer why the thread title was changed? I still don't get it, wasn't this still a terrorist attack? Why has the terrorist suddenly been labelled as a confused white guy? I have a feeling I won't like the answers.

I feel sad and sorry.. but till we dont do justice we are not going to achieve peace.

When one group is happy over the killing of others, how can we reach equilibrium of peaceful co-existance.

Innocent people killed in Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine and all over the world in a conscious effort should either be accepted as killed in terrorist activity or there should be no word as a terrorist.. Labelling a word with one group or ethnicity is only going to widen this gap.

At this sad & sorry time, we should remember those killed daily in Aghanistan by a super power (USA) in a terrorist act.

There are so many death and casualties that we have stopped labelling it as an act of terrorism. Thats the lowest point of humanity we can reach where we label same act done by one group as wrong and done by another group as right. 

Arrested at the front gate? There was no gate. This is an island with an event happening on it.
