I give FattyDingDong some cred for making this thread but do agree with Makingmusic476, he does know how to rile up VGC

OT: If I were to take this thread seriously(which I somewhat am doing) I personally think the Wii will be first this holiday season, we've said this for about 2 years about how the wii was losing momentum and that it would be overtaken and then BAM!!! look who's sitting on top.(talking WW though)

it will be a close battle for 2nd place and I believe the PS3 might just make to 2nd place as I think a price cut will be favoring the PS3, the lowest selling model is $300 where it's competition while its competitors have a $150-$199 console. if the PS3 is holding good position during these weekly charts, imagine what could happen with a price cut during the holiday season.(might have another 2009 on our hands...but bigger)

for exclusives:  Gears 3 and UC3 will give their  consoles a good boost, though Gears 3 is much bigger(Speacailly in the NA) so it's mostly a given that the 360 will get a bigger boost to the 360 then UC3 will do for the PS3, now tag that with Halo CE and this could put the 360 on top of the PS3.(NA wise) though FF XIII-2 is releasing  in Japan and I believe UC3 will be stronger in EMEAA than NA.

as for Call of Duty and other multiplats won't make much of an impact Hardware wise; both console will recieve boosts but no title will be the "nail in the coffin" for the othe console

the biggest thing MS/360 has is Kinect, I know most gamers were upset about MS E3 conference being heavy on Kinect(myself included) but kids will eat that Disneyland, Fun Labs , Star Wars Kinect up. though I don't think "Kinect Effect" will be of the magnitude it was last holiday season.

I know America doesn't equal the world, but it plays a pretty damn big part lol

*sigh* as in term of hype both games have a huge amount of hype as they're the biggest exclusives coming out this year. a main reason to why UC3 had more players was because it was an open beta, I believe the only way you could play the Gears 3 beta was pre-ordering Gears, buying Bulletstorm, and invite a friend. yet Gears 3 got more pre-orders during the beta than Uncharted 3.Gears 3 has 1 million pre-orders in NA alone, think about the rest of the world, gears 3 probably atleast is looking at a 3 million fw.

and of course Mario is bigger than Gears...I don't know why you brought that up...

exactly how does one measure hype? do you have some sort of hype meter thats shows the whole gaming community? if not then X-game have more hype than Y-game is subjective.(well more opinionated)

and as for Gears being only big in america, Gears 2 has sold more in both America and EMEEA than Uncharted 2

the point i was making is that Gears 3 was not completely open to the public(you seeing alot of people getting in doesn't mean anything and hardly accounts for the  1 million+ people playing) while Uncharted 3 was open to the public(let alone nearly everybody had PS+ at that time) and I don't know why you're throwing othe PS3 exclusives out there, those games are of different genres so the PS3 fanbase might not cater to all games thus one game might not hinder the other games sales.

I'm saying gears is bigger sales wise(like I said before)...Gears of war has seperately and together have sold more than any Uncharted title. if Gear 2 could do great in america and yet match U2's numbers in EMEEA then UC3 might not have much to stand on(unless you count japan which niether games had blockbuster sales)

and again Gears wasn't compeletely open to the public, it's not like the UC3 beta where you could just turn on your sytem and download the beta from the store..you had had to atleast go to gamestop to get the beta or buy bulletstorm, you couldn't get it  if you pre-order off at like amazon, fye, or other local gaming stores

and again, you logic is flawed, of course the DS is bigger than both the PS3 and 360, again you are mixing up bigger and better, I agree sales mean nothing(to an extent), BUT they do show us what's more popular than the other. personally my DS(well my now my 3DS) is my most played system this gen

I still think ps3 will be first or very close to first. A $50 price cut will make the ps3 jump a lot in sales. And if they cut $100 off of the ps3, it will blow every other console out of the water, but I'm not saying they will cut $100. they could but I don't know. A $199 ps3 will be huge and everyone can deny it all they want, but just look at the last time Sony cut the ps3 price and brought out a new model. That is what we could potentially see again during the month of the cut and at least a month after and then it will keep at a steady pace.

All in all, I'm saying a $50 cut would push the ps3 above the wii and on par with the 360 and possibly take first but, a $100 cut will push Sony past the 360 in the holidays and worldwide.

lol How is this so hard to understand. I'll just put it this way if Gears series and Uncharted series had a popularity contest Gears would win. Gears is just a more well known franchise than Uncharted. Now don't get me wrong I'm not saying Gears series is better or worse, but in terms of sales and hype Gears of war is just more popular and it will sell more worldwide than Uncharted.

What the fuck is a catory? I assume you mean 'catagory'. Catagories don't matter. Gears overall is bigger than Uncharted. That's a fact.

And yes, the DS is much bigger than both the PS3 & 360. The DS has sold nearly 150m units while both the PS3 and Xbox are hovering around 55m. 150 is bigger than 55. The DS is bigger than PS3/Xbox. That's a fact. 

Maybe in your world, PS3/Xbox is bigger, but in the real world, the Ds trumps both the PS3 and Xbox.
