Love this chart!

I want someone to do a 2011/Lifetime NPD/VGC comparison.

1. Green line is only slightly ahead of red line despite huge advantage in user base (i guess RROD replacements and custom firmware take their toll here)

2. The trend suggest's blue line should be below red one soon ;)

Regardless, PS3 has had 4 exclusives this year, LBP2, SOCOM, Killzone 3 and Infamous 2, that must have added some weight to its numbers

So incredible that this generations oldest home console is selling the most in the US.

More incredible is how Wii price cut did little to nothing. I remember reading VGC predictions about Japan turn arounds and US/EU price cut causing large spikes only to see it do none of that.

Poor little guy is struggling and I wonder if his time has come.

i think he mean Xbox 360 tie ratios should be like 17 or even more

Am I missing something? The hardware charts are far closer together between the ps3 and 360 than the software. If anything this chart shows xbox 360 owners are buying more games per console than ps3 owners "even with half of 360 sales supposedly being out of comission ^^"

So wait a second.......Vgchartz has the Wii overtracked in NA according to NPD by about 500k units? Am I readin the correct?

The thing is the Wii is consistanlty overtracked on a regular basis here and I've said it before and been chewed out by Ninty fans but its a fact. I posted in the WW sales thread the week of the price cut that we as retailers weren't selling the kind of volume that Vgchartz was reporting and people tripped on me. Well I was right. The price cut has had little effect on overall numbers, simply because the demand for the console has dried up in NA. The casuals are all slowly migrating to Kinect and Sony is eating up much of the core demographic.

I wouldn't be bothered if Vgchartz simply messed up on one months tracking thats understandable but this is a consistant problem. They virtually always have the Wii selling more than it actually is.
