idk HDR lighting already looks better than real life. What's so bad about using effects that are simply looking better ?
The lighting in Crysis 2 for example is insane. And even though it might be over the top, it still looks real.

I'm just saying its a common problem with driving games...  The cars are bound to look too new and shiny.  Everything is beound to look almost too clean and too polished (not just the cars)  Its unavoidable, as the developor of GT5 stated in his quote. 

that isn't a problem with driving games but games in general.the real world is dirty and today's games try to be perfect.

 

i would say a game life BF3 does correct this issue in a big way.

 

the lightning was way too much,it looked liked an NFS game rather than a real world sim

its looking good the showroom grafix are a big plus, on track it looks like forza 3 with improved lighting



...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

Forza 4 uses the best lighting system currently available. IBl. The same system used by Hollywood.

i meant the unreal part in a bad way.

 

it looks awesome when you play a game as we wanna have that aww factor,but that isn't really what should be there.

the sun glint looks good but it is not like it should be.

While I agree to an extent ( even avatar had that gloss ) forza 4 and battlefield 3 are the closest to real life yet seen. Also the car models are the best out there. They have really pushed the expectation in this genre this Gen. Brilliant and on the 360.

The on track car detail destroys forza 3s, that's obvious to. Also the tracks are alot more detailed. Its actually a massive leap. More than forza 3 over 2.

forza's great but i wouldn't put it in the same league as BF3's engine detail

Its a shame that we cant just celebrate how great a game looks and plays without getting into immature fights.

The game looks stunning and plays just as good! Really worried about the sales though as their is alot more interest in other games this fall.



Why does steam have to always have sales on. My credit card can not take any more punishment!!!
