No ND.

PSV cannot stream content from PS3/4 at the level Wii U can, nor can it do motion tracking like Wii U's pad can.

And of course there's the price of entry for PSV and PS3/4.

The again, this is what you would expect them to say about the competition.

while i agree with this "And of course there's the price of entry for PSV and PS3/4."

1. "PSV cannot stream content from PS3/4 at the level Wii U can" im cuirious as to why you say this since the psp was already capable of this :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mASdFCTNA7I

2. "nor can it do motion tracking like Wii U's pad can" i'd also like to know how you know that who says the motion sensing on vita isn't better?

 1. Vita and PS3 aren't really designed for full streaming on the level of Wii U. Unless they forsaw this when they made PS3 and all of them have been shipped with a secret locked feature to transfer 480P video without lag, those claims are nothing more than Sony PR.

Plus PSV as PS3 controller is comparable to 3DS as  a Wii U controller, which is impractical to what the Wii U pad is.

2. PSV doesn't have a standard reference point like the sensor bar for motion tracking. I doubt PSV can do something like the golf sequence in the demo shown at E3. The sensor bar on the controller can even be used for wii remotes.

" There's also a sensor bar on the new controller, so your Wii remotes could read off of that "

PSV may have some similar functionalities to the Wii U pad but there are a number of different ways Wii U can be used that PSV is limited in.

1. "all of them have been shipped with a secret locked feature to transfer 480P video without lag, those claims are nothing more than Sony PR."

i don't follow... it was a feature called remote play possible between any ps3 and psp shown here :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mASdFCTNA7I ( thats someone playing a ps3 game on psp )

2. "PSV doesn't have a standard reference point like the sensor bar for motion tracking"

i'm no expert on this technology but i wouldn't say that nintendo's method is the only way of achieving this and that there are no other ways to possibly replicate it can you? it ( the vita ) has cams, gps, an internal compass etc who says none of ithese features can achieve what you described

The Vita is incapable of providing the same level of fidelity in streaming functionality . The Wii U method of streaming is better and more efficient than what PSV offers by virtue of the hardware being built especially for it.

So people who think PS3/Vita can do what the WiiU can, they're technically in the right, I suppose, but not feasible at all. Sony will probably build PS4 to take better advantage of streaming with Vita than PS3 is capable of but even then it won't be exactly on par with Wii U. That's not what Sony will be pushing next gen anyways.

Like i said before,  PSV may have some similar functionalities to the Wii U pad but there are a number of different ways Wii U can be used that PSV is limited or lacking in.

At the end of the day it's Wii U that will be getting the better support and that's what really matters.

what are you exactly basing yor assumptions on?  Sony may not even have finalised the Hardware for the Vita yet, they are possibly even looking into implementing these capabilities right as we speak.

I doubt Sony is looking to add something that won't get  much support to a console that they will already be selling at a loss.

Besides, the PS3 itself is also a limiting factor.

by all means, doubt away, but don't present your assumptions as facts.

Then tell me again how PS Vita will be doing the exact same things as the Wii U Pad was specially designed for. Tell me also what Sony will be adding Vita to bring it up to par with Wii U's functionality and why they would take the extra losses for something that will not get worthwile support.

And the  Wii U console is sure to have hardware to make streaming quick and efficient to the U pad while PSV/PS3 streaming is network streaming.

Once again, PSV wasn't made to stream at the same level of the Wii U was designed specially for, with all the same functionalities and there are limiting factors to it.

That is all. I'm done running in circles in this thread.

There wouldn't be running in circles if you admitted that you're just as clueless as the people who are against your argument.

Here we go again, why do people keep posting threads on a Sony owned game company dissing Nintendo. Do you think a Sony company would say "Ya that Wii U will sell great"
Pffff what a clown joke this is ! If you want to add a non bias comment, why not add the comments from all the recent Devs praising Wii U....but you wouldn't want to share that with people would you?? So disgusting

Seeing your avatar im not surprised about your comment, but clearly you`re overthinking this and taking it way too seriously.

Um seeing that your portible id is PSN, and seeing that most of the games on your profile are Sony based, It's no surprise that you have a problem with what i said. So what's the difference ?

And no i am not taking this too seriously, it makes ZERO sense to quote a Sony company having an opinion about a Nintendo product....it's that simple. That's like saying "Coca-cola says their soda tastes better then Pepsi".... Obviousy this is just an attempt for the OP to scratch his own itch.

Like i said before, lots of Devs have come out to praise WiiU......but this comment from Naughty Dog is more important?

I don't really wanna sound like a jerk to you but out of all the Nintendo fanboys, you're the one who really needs to chillax.

Bunch of jackasses.

I said Vita streaming is too limited to offer the exact same thing that Wii U pad offers, not that it can't be done at all.

Terrible reading comprehension all around. Wasted my time.

Naughty Dog game director Justin Richmond has claimed that, as interesting as Wii U looks, it doesn't do anything that cannot be handled by the PlayStation 3 and its upcoming handheld counterpart, thePlayStation Vita

"To be honest with you, the idea of it is very, very cool. But there's nothing that the Wii U has that the Vita and PS3 doesn't," Richmond told NowGamer. "You know, it's an interesting piece of technology, and I'm interested to see how people use it.

"I'm not completely sold yet. That the screen isn't multi-touch, that's a little weird. It seems there are some very strange holes in it, but to be fair, last time I was sceptical of the original Wii, and look at how that did. I'm sure that the games they make for Wii U will be amazing."

Well, PS3 and Vita can't do Mario, so that's one thing Wii U has. Funnily enough, I didn't know multi-touch wasn't being offered on that Wii U screen ... I wonder if Nintendo deliberately makes half-efforts with its hardware, just to be a dick.

Well its true that the vita shares a lot of the features of the wii u controller like accelerometer, touchscreen, camera, mic etc but its also true that unlike the wii u which will definitely come with the controller all ps3 users will not have vitas and therefore it ( the connection between them if one is made ) will obviously have less support from a development standpoint

When the PS3 gets cheaper, most probably they will bundle a PSVITA with every console; and that will cost as much or a birt more than the Wii.  Considering that you actually get a portable entertainment device it would be more than worthy of the money you spend.

"I said Vita streaming is too limited" the problem we're all having is this what do you mean by too limited? what more is needed other than wireless connectivity and sufficient processing power? since you seem to understand the tech better please explain?

Imo that grandma crowd, and older casual gamer crowd will think wiiu is way to complicated. Its much more less friendly than Wii. I think they made a mistake. The Wii took away alot of controller issues, but wiiu brings back the complications. However Microsoft seem to be on the easy to play path. Microsoft and Nintendo are on 2 completely different paths. Making games unportable.

in a way i kind of see your point nintendo's goal to take all the standard buttons used on conventional controls ( which some people say confused people ) and add even more input options like the touchscreen, cams, mic etc... if just having the conventional buttons confused some people what about if there are even more input options present?

but of course nintendo has said that they will continue supporting wiimotes and they will be used in some of the games for the wii u so at least in that case there will be familiarity for wii fans

The success of the DS is a point against that, though your concerns may still prove valid, though it largely depends on the kind of software Nintendo chooses to bring to Wii U

But from a pure "intimidation" standpoint, Wii U only has the fact of analogues with a d-pad to be more intimidating than a DS

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

only time will tell

sounds like a great idea but i think its unlikely that they'll bundle them

In fact that's not true... the streaming is not limited and even for 1080p is good (based in alredy disponible feature Remote Play for PSP or PC)... sorry but you have no argument to say anything.
