Imo that grandma crowd, and older casual gamer crowd will think wiiu is way to complicated. Its much more less friendly than Wii. I think they made a mistake. The Wii took away alot of controller issues, but wiiu brings back the complications. However Microsoft seem to be on the easy to play path. Microsoft and Nintendo are on 2 completely different paths. Making games unportable.

in a way i kind of see your point nintendo's goal to take all the standard buttons used on conventional controls ( which some people say confused people ) and add even more input options like the touchscreen, cams, mic etc... if just having the conventional buttons confused some people what about if there are even more input options present?

but of course nintendo has said that they will continue supporting wiimotes and they will be used in some of the games for the wii u so at least in that case there will be familiarity for wii fans

The success of the DS is a point against that, though your concerns may still prove valid, though it largely depends on the kind of software Nintendo chooses to bring to Wii U

But from a pure "intimidation" standpoint, Wii U only has the fact of analogues with a d-pad to be more intimidating than a DS

true i didn't even consider that when you look at it the ds almost has the same amount of input options, but my comment was in relation to people who have said that they find the wii easier to adjust to because its input methods are less complicated than the ones on ps3 and 360

I always thought Naughty Dog was the most decent less trash talking developer. I was wrong.

And to the people agreeing, and to some guy I know that will come and agree later:

Cool, I didn't know you all had WiiUs!

Bunch of jackasses.

I said Vita streaming is too limited to offer the exact same thing that Wii U pad offers, not that it can't be done at all.

Terrible reading comprehension all around. Wasted my time.

ok i'm not trying to start a debate here but heres my thouht!

wouldn't 3G help with the streaming. i understand that 3G is used for increasing download speed.

i'm not a tech guy and really haven't any idea wht 30 precent of the quotes/post were about.

noone has a PSV yet either, and Naughty Dog didn't trash Nintnedo(matter of opinion i guse)so i'd say your record is still intact.

not knowing is the factor that makes the people that agree and there post pointless.

hey they didn't  bash the controler they just compared the 2 after being asked a question, they didn't make a statement.

"I said Vita streaming is too limited" the problem we're all having is this what do you mean by too limited? what more is needed other than wireless connectivity and sufficient processing power? since you seem to understand the tech better please explain?

I have risen from the depths of my ban (which I blame all of you for BTW) to finish what I started.

If this sort of thing does get enabled on PS3 with Vita, we can't expect games to have Uncharted 3 like graphics at the same time the PS3 is rendering geometry for the Vita screen as well. That's kind of where I think it would be beneficial for the PS3 to just send executable code to the Vita, rather than just video, or a hybrid of both. There's no reason the PS3 can't load an inventory screen and the like onto the vita and have it execute that code itself.

Where I think Vita can be much more useful is where it would actually download a client app that's meant to interact with the PS3 title. Vita has bluetooth, so it can act as a controller for the PS3. So think of the demo they showed with Zelda where you use the touchscreen for item selection or a map? That sort of thing should be easily doable with no lag. While that may not open nearly as many 'new' gaming experiences, it would be a very welcome addition to those that have a Vita ... and would be quite easy to develop at little expense.

Playing a full game the way Wii U does it won't be done on Vita. Take that new Dragons Crown game for instance. You own PS3 version and Vita version. You play on PS3, save, transfer to Vita, load up game on Vita, and pick up where you left off.

Theres no lag that way since the game itself is running on the Vita. Think of it like a glorified version of Kojimas Transfaring idea for PS3 -> PSP.

That said, its not exactly what Wii U is doing since that only requires one game copy. Its also more time consuming unless they use cloud saves. And its more expensive since youll need both game copies unless they start doing cheap pack ins.

Wii U's method of streaming is also better. The Vita receives streaming data from the PS3 over 802.11g it will first need to be processed and converted to whatever your display understands and be fed to the display in the fashion. The display will then use its own processor that decodes the signal.

If the WiiU is using something similar to wireless HDMI, the conversion to whatever your display needs/understands is done by the console and streamed directly, alongside the signal to your TV, to controller screen (which decodes the signal). So in essence WiiU is doing away with that one extra step that needs to be done on the PS3/Vita combination.

There are 2 kinds of "streaming" we are talking about here.

1 . The network/IP kind, you do over your network, ala Netflix. That's handled by your router, that's local internet traffic.

2. A proprietary wireless RF video-mirroring solution. This is what Nintendo is using, some kind of UWB thing - this does not run on your network. It's like a cordless phone base, it's its own thing, and won't impact the traffic on your local network.

The only real issue is potential interference but I imagine they have that sorted with frequencies and channel hopping.

The Wii U method is #2, it is going to be extremely solid and not prone to dropping out, in all likelihood. Sony would have to employ method #1 for video streaming, which they do NOT need to do to support 2-screen gaming. The PS3 game on disc could come with a little Vita app that would install once and handle very light communication via WiFi or BT, obviating the need for compressing and throwing around a big laggy video stream.

I'm done and will now take my leave. Possibly for good if what I've done pissed the mods of enough.

And...er...I apologize for the jackass comment. I guess I just got really irritated.

This is not good for Nintendo. If most of the features can be mimicked then they just lost 51 million possible consumers whom they are aiming at with the WiiU.

I have been saying for a while that the Wii U wasn't going to be sufficient to get PS360 owners to upgrade and this only cements that they aren't offering enough. This and their flawed position on online.

Considering the PS3 will probably have a price drop this year the PS3/V combo will be price competitive especially for the 51 million that already own a PS3.Were I Sony I would put the PS4 on hold unless M$ announces a new console.

Assuming that all multiplatform ownership is impossible and that no-one with a PS3 has any interest in Nintendo games or any exclusive that might go to the Wii U, and equally assuming that Nintendo's Sony-esque proclamations regarding Wii U online will make for an inferior experience

Here we go again, why do people keep posting threads on a Sony owned game company dissing Nintendo. Do you think a Sony company would say "Ya that Wii U will sell great"
Pffff what a clown joke this is ! If you want to add a non bias comment, why not add the comments from all the recent Devs praising Wii U....but you wouldn't want to share that with people would you?? So disgusting

Seeing your avatar im not surprised about your comment, but clearly you`re overthinking this and taking it way too seriously.

Um seeing that your portible id is PSN, and seeing that most of the games on your profile are Sony based, It's no surprise that you have a problem with what i said. So what's the difference ?

And no i am not taking this too seriously, it makes ZERO sense to quote a Sony company having an opinion about a Nintendo product....it's that simple. That's like saying "Coca-cola says their soda tastes better then Pepsi".... Obviousy this is just an attempt for the OP to scratch his own itch.

Like i said before, lots of Devs have come out to praise WiiU......but this comment from Naughty Dog is more important?

I have a Wii and love it too as i've loved Nintendo since NES, I also love Playstation.  Does nintendo have a portable ID i can put on?  But yea your avatar makes you look like you worship the Wii U and the way it sounds is that you cant phathom the idea that there can be anything absolutely negetive towards the Wii U.

Suck it up, ND expressed their own views just like billions of other people.

Nobody's saying that ND's comment is more important just dont be upset that people are interested in what ND says rather than the other devs.   If you're not happy then just dont be in this thread. Thats all there is to it.

btw,   Have you ever seen the Pepsi commercial where they advertised their drink as better than Coke with the Coke truck driving switching his drink from coke to pepsi? Yeap they can say that.

Obviousy your original comment  is just an attempt for to scratch your own itch.
