I think ALL of you guys are jumping to conclusions here, for one we don't know the graphical potential of WiiU that well as we have no idea about the specs...and second none of us know what the next consoles from sony and ms will be like either so to say they all will be in the same graphical range is silly too.

and again I remember ninty fans going nuts about 3ds graphics and said things like psp2 won't be much of a graphical leap/power leap etc. We know how that turned out right? so let's wait and see

Mr Khan talks about range of portability, not power. PS360 is not in the same range than a PC, but both are in the same range of portability (shaders especially). Wii U has it. Crytek and Epic has confirmed their engines running on Wii U, and I don't remember the third one. They won't trash their work during this years or ignore a fourth platform to sell (if the market is there). More silly is to ignore this.

Some see 3DS games and just think that's what the console can do, but forget about the 3D effect or that this are the first games. To judge a platform, you need time.

I agree the difference most probably won't be the same level as HD vs Wii this gen BUT again we have no idea what the next ps xbox will be like..even architecture wise..if they end up being closer to each other a lot and have  big enough difference to WiiU, most multiplat makers won't even bother porting the game over. So to judge the ease of porting we should wait to know more info.

psv already has shown games that look much better than the best 3ds has shown..if you just go by the raw hardware cpapabilities don't kid yourself thinking 3ds will be able to match psv with or without 3d. it just not gonna happen

There will be significant pressures on Sony and Microsoft to work within established architectures. If everyone's working with IBM as rumored, there shouldn't be any outstanding issues. Early in this generation, Sony saw the clear disadvantages to trying exotic architectures

There is pressure for standardization on everyone, and everyone saw the consequences of market fragmentation this generation

well we have to wait and see I suppose :) I wouldn't be surprised if ps/xbox ends up being much closer to each other in power and capabiltiies than they are to wii and devs will just make games for those two and do late ports for wii with reduced quality to test the waters. I think sony and ms would like to differentiate themselves from nintendo, at least when it comes to 3rd party support

so again too early to tell

Yes, but they would have to be more powerful at a level comparable to Wii to PS360, which would require something prohibitively expensive from Sony and Microsoft, when they are unlikely to launch anywhere later than 2013. Port inferiority would be there on the Wii U, but not would be so much of an issue that developers would pass on the Wii U, *especially* because developers will probably have about a year to really get familiar with Wii U toolsets, which is an issue that the Wii had against it (that they never really bothered to grapple with TEV Shaders, which were an outmoded technology anyway)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

not surprisingly

i don't think power is wht Dev's want. consoles with more power then this gen will be pointless if they don't have the space(higher RAM/internal memory) to create new expeiances far beyond this gen.

power is one thing but Dev's will need space to go with that power.

ahhh it should be multiplatform.

I don't care what console it's on, I just want them to fix the terribly bland gameplay of KH2. The first game was actually adventurous and fun, but the second game was just as linear as FFXIII, it just did a better job at hiding it.

Versus is precisely the reason why PS3 KH3 is most probable. They will have engine with KH like mechanics and they will be able to easily multiplatform it for Vita.

Yeah, but that would require them finishing Versus XIII, which it sounds like is not going to be for a little while, so by the time it is done, there won't really be enough time for the team to get KH 3 done before the PS4 comes round

I think its a little too late, Judging by how long versus is taking, if they would announce KH3 for ps3 today it would come out around 2015 which wouldnt make any sense since there would be new consoles already out!

Im thinking multiplatform for the xbox720 and ps4 (hopefully not for the wii u because it wouldnt be powerful as the other 2)

Yes, but the Wii U will be in easy portability range. The power gap is not going to be anywhere near as significant this time

I think is worthless to argue against it. People believe what they want to believe. Nintendo makes a underpowered console? Now they always do, N64 or NGC never existed. Is really a big graphical jump neccesary for next consoles, even if the tech is not affordable for everyone and the companys are making multiplatform games to lower costs? That's doesn't matter. PS4/720 will be infinitly better than Wii U and companys will exclude Wii U even if the specs and market are there. Crytek and Epic has confirmed their engines running on Wii U? Who cares! The console is not even a PS360.

Some see 3DS games and just think that's what the console can do, but forget about the 3D effect or that this are the first games. Iwata has confirmed that Wii U can stream to four controllers, power is not the issue, but the cost is high so they don't find viable. And this matter? No.

So, why to bother discussing this if we don't know anything? Oh, yes. My mistake. We believe what we want to believe.

It's funny how some people will trust PR bullshit just because Iwata is spreading it.  I'm the consumer here so it should be up to me if i want to spend cash on 4 Wii-U gamepads.
