Seriously... they run the most imcompetant freaking multiplayer system i've ever seen... I can connect with my friends one day, and the next day we have connection errors with zero changes on either of our PCs... I mean what the hell?

Yep... and it's AWFUL.

It's like an online system for developers who don't want to develop their own systems... and it's just bad.

For what ever reason you can never connect to all the games available, a fact that you don't really notice.... unless you want to play with friends.

It's been a long time since I tried to use it. When I did, however, I couldn't get anywhere with it.

What is Gamespy btw? Is it a service for dedicated servers? What game are you playing that won't work?

Not even a service for dedicated servers.  It's just a service for matchmaking.

It's not that any of the games that use it don't work... it's that they work poorly... because they never register all the games, and i have like.... a 50-50 chance for it to connect to a friends game even when using direct connect with their IP adress.

Most recent examples are Borderlands and NWN2.

I haven't heard of gamespy in who knows how long.

I had to use Gamespy for a multiplayer a while back. I no longer play or remember the name of that game. Gamespy is an awful service.

BF2, i had to install gamespy, what a clutter mess that was getting rid of that crappy toolbar that kept poping up and all the other useless gamespy crap
