A bit. You have a team of characters on a square grid, each with different stats, weapons, growths etc. If they die, they're gone...for good. You'll never get them back. Battles take places via points, percentages, stats etc. It sounds boring, but it isn't...

I'd define it as a fantasy Advance Wars, with RPG and leveling elements thrown in there. I still need to try play more of them, only played a gba one, but I noticed I liked the conquering and building of Advance Wars more.

I'm disappointed in myself for having Shadow Dragon (DS) being my first FE game xD It was super awesome though

Everyone has to start somewhere, right? Also, Radiant Dawn can be bought for around £10 nowadays. For that price, I got 450 hours of play. EVERYONE should play it for that price...

It's here in our local game shop used for £10.99. Online (play?) I think it's around £15. You'll easily be able to find it for under £20 (€25) online...

Does anyone else prefer SRPGs on handhelds? The only exception I've come across if Valkyria Chronicles and that does SRPGs much different.

Well, i prefer the length, depth and graphics of the home consoles, but I like doing it on the go. So 50-50 really.

Well I never finished PoR but it didn't seem that much longer thatn the last two on GBA. Well Sacred Stones maybebut if you did all the optional stuff that could be extended. Also the graphics of 3D FE games is not pretty, I much prefer the sprite work of the GBA games.

Radiant Dawn has...45 (?) chapters, which comes to well over 50 hours per playthrough, and nearly 100 hours, if not way more, on hard. That's a lot. The depth you can get in the console versions (more story, VA, cutscenes, more classes, more weapons etc.) as well as the exra depth from the animations, at least in Radiant Dawn (where each unit have a unique attacking and dodging animation) make it that bit deeper for me
